What does a CL or CL-S go for these days?

I just wanted to know how much CL and Cl-S goes for these days because I am considering the CL for a future purchase, and price is a big factor. Could i get it below MSRP? I live in philadelphia, pa, if that is a factor. Oh, and I dont want dvd navigation. So if anyone can help, i'd appreciate it. thanx in advance...

I'm not 100% certain, but you should be in the 27k range for a CL-S without navi, maybe better. With the 2002 model coming out, you'll never get a better deal than now. And you won't be sorry, trust me.

Ok, i'm a little confused. Red Rider said i could get a type S for 27k w/o the navigation. But pgatour1 is saying i could get it for 30k. 3k is a big difference. Is it the area or is someone mistaken? thanx again...

Got mine (Type S, no-nav) at Brunswick Acura in NJ for 27,600 at the end of June. Don't deal with a salesmen, call and talk to the manager. Also call 3-4 dealerships and see who will give you the best deal. The wholesale price on the car is $27,500 (not including any special incentives they might have for the dealer). So, don't believe that crap about them not making any money!!! You should be able to get at least the same deal if not a better one at this point.

Yeah it really depends on the area. Those prices I listed were for Scottsdale, here's what I will do. I'll go by tomorrow morning and check out the prices of everything there and list them exactly tomorrow morning.

Ok here are the EXACT Numbers on the Spec Sheet taped to the car at Scottsdale Acura. This includes Destination fee. All the cars I got the prices to are with no mods, no spoiler, no tints, stock rims. Yes I went at 11pm but nothing else to do and I was interested.
2001 CL-P $28,460
2001 CL-P w/Navi $30,460
2001 CL-S $30,870
2001 CL-S w/Navi $32,870

Then there was one with Tints, Spoiler, CL-S w/Navi for $33,580
Then there was TL-S w/Navi, Comptech Suspension Upgrade, 18" Chrome Rims, Spoiler, Tints, Full Body Kit for $38,950

Forget about the sticker price. The only time you pay sticker is on a brand new car or one that is in hot demand.....neither applies to the CL. Check out Edmunds.com and they give you a price you should be able to get the car for. I've found that you can get it for lower if you are a good negotiator....

If you plan on buying a CL save yourself the trouble and don't go to Sussman acura in jenkintown. The service sucks real bad there. I would suggest finding another dealer. What part of philly are you from? I live in Abington.

I live in northeast philadelphia. Anywhere around there that i can get a good deal? haha, i really need to learn how to negotiate. Oh, and i have one more question. What's the difference between the Cl-S and Cl-P? Other than the 35 HP, i dont see a difference. And how big of a performance difference is there? Car and driver has the CL-P going 0-60 in 6.7 while the type-S is listed at 6.4. That doesn't seem like a drastic difference. Or maybe thats just my opinion..

The difference in acceleration between the CL-P and CL-S is fairly small. In addition there are some handling/ride differences, plus you get the VSA, perforated leather, and silver guages if those things are of importance to you. Basically, the CL-S is just a little sportier than the CL-P. Some feel it's worth the extra cash, others don't. If you're not interested in the extra sport stuff, then I'd definitely go with the CL-P. Now is a good time to buy. But no better or worse than it has been for awhile. The cars are being discounted pretty heavily. I don't suspect that will change anytime soon.

Happy shopping!

I purchased a CL-P February and my best friend bought a CL-S in April. You know how compitition between friends is, he had to one up me. We took our cars up to Sears point raceway to run the quarter mile against each other back in June. Well, from 0-60 he beat me by by under .4 seconds 6.43 to 6.78 and was ahead of me by two car lenghs after the quarter mile 91 to 96 mph.

try montgomeryville acura. i think it's not too far from philly (on 309 i htink) and they deal pretty well. i didn't buy from them but got a price quote that i used from them (they didn't have the car i wanted).

as for differences, besides 35hp, you get better handling, better wheels/tires, different gauges, vsa, perferated leather, and the type-s logo!

you can't go by one number to determine what your car will do. they could've tested the tl (not cl-p, tl) in 10 degree weather and tested the cl-s in 80 degree weather, at different elevations, with a fatass in the cl-s and a 90lb bulemic blonde chick in the tl. all the numbers in any magazine is for the ONE car they tested and not representative of the average of all of that model.

are you buying or leasing ??? I'd stay AWAY from Metro Acura down at the Automall in Philly ...

I got my CL-P at Classic Acura, in Turnersville, NJ ... The 'purchase price' of the car was a shade UNDER $26,000 ... but, I leased it -- and still got a great deal --

If you're gonna buy, wait till the end of this month -- you can probably get the car for INVOICE or CHEAPER -- if you go to Classic -- talk to MARC -- he's the GSM -- I dealt with him and his deal was better than ANYONE ELSE in the Philly/South Jersey area.
Actually, LEASING is NOT a good idea right now (or on any leftover) because the RESIDUAL values are much lower because the car has already depreciated considerably ... best to lease a NEW model year car, if you can -- or unless the dealer is offering an incentive.
