I picked up a gallon of the Honda premixed stuff some time ago when I passed by a dealer. It's not expensive, it's premixed, it's easily available, and is warranty approved. Good enough for me.

I keep a gallon in the garage for topping off the reservoir if necessary. I think in my two years of ownership, I've only topped off once.

Coolant is no different from oil and filter. Any major brand coolants can do the job. I flushed mine about a year ago with Prestone coolant. Besides, Honda doe not make the coolant they sell.

I've not used any brand other than Honda.

I can't speak for 3rd party quality.

I wonder who makes the coolant for Honda?

http://www.ahmotor.com/product/ahmcat1mt.html $17 on ahmotor.com Prestone runs about $11-15/gallon. The 'official' stuff doesn't seem that overpriced to me.

No, same stuff. The 'Honda Type 2' coolant is the proper one, premixed and good for aluminum block engines.

The pre-mixed is nice. Already has clean H20 in it. If you add Water Wetter, you just need a little more distilled water. Otherwise, it's good to go.

Good price. Pays to shop around!
