Well fella's the CL has been put down

So after installing some cardone axles they poped out twice.
And I could not get them back in the 3rd time because the c clip was stretched to big and the very end was stripped .
I reinstalled my old axle too and I was hearing cracking and snaping as soon as it drove off.
pulled that axle and went to a really old one and had no issues with that axle .
The car drove fine and when for about 2 miles and I was at a light on a hill and the car started to roll backwards and would not engauge till 1200 rpms then would drive fine.
At the house I did some short rides on my street and started to get grind snaping and cracking.
Then the car would not move anymore.
Now the car will will go into gears with no movement and when I try to go back to park it will grind to a stop.
Speedo was going up and so was the rpms but nothing.
Lifted the fucked up axle side and I can just spin the tire freely.
I think I got torn up diff.
No lights,no anything.
Sucks but,O well.
Car is going down for a few till I can find a place where I can rip motor and trans out.
Then I will get back to it.
It's paid for so it can sit till whenever.
I'm most likely going to find another car for now to replace it till I get back to it.
I'm having the family turkey day here tomorrow and I am going to see who will let me rip apart the car there.

Not too bad of a big deal since I wanted another tranny or a rebuild before the new motor goes in. Just a shitty time right before x-mas .
I am seaching for new trans options now.
It just sucks, when I lived in mass I had full access to ramp trunks, and garages and now all I have is a piece of grass out front witch makes working on cars a bit more difficult.
I will still have it fully together by spring motor and trans.
To much time, effort and money already in this car just to dump the project.
finished up the botom of my motor to the pan today.

It's just a broken axle. It isn't the trans.

I'll check again but the driver side was out 4 time's and the passenger twice.
If it is a axle it could be the intermediate shaft.
Doing alot of cleaning and preparing for the day.
I will jack it back up tomorrow.

Everyone cross your fingers for me.

Matter a fact, screw it, I'm going to take a look right now.
Possibly might make a good day if only a shaft snapped.

Driver side is way out this time. Trans fuild is leaking now.
Axle seal is probablly all done now.
If it's not dark when everyone leaves today I will pull it again to see whats going on.
I snapped the axles all the way in everytime so possibly the inside of the carrier the hold the clip is f'd. I bet this axle is going to be damaged too
It only takes me 10 minutes to remove the axle if that but, I need to get cleaned up so I don't look like a gresse ball when everyone gets here.

Did you replace both axles? The 5AT doesnt have an LSD. Its an open diff. So whichever side has the least amount of resistance is the side the power will transfer to. Replace both axles and go from there.

I did replace both.
Actually the car is fixxed.
I pulled the axle when I had people here. Pull the clip off and squeezed it tight with some pliers, put it back on and had some one turning the driver side back and forth while jambing the axle in with all I had to the point where I was tied of jambing it in.
Slapped it together and trans is engauging how it's is supposed to and there is no cracking no noise be sides this axle has been sitting on the porch in the rain for atleast a year so it's a piece of crap.
So I'm going to get another axle, And I'm going to throw some cardboard under the car and run the car and see if the axle seal is done or not.
So happy so far.
I have not did any long driving but, It seams all good.
Also my nephew said I could do my swap at his house before we got it driving. Now I can drive there.
Only damage that pisses me off right now is my outer tierod ,my upper ball joint covers look like swiss chesse from popping them so many times.

If the axle pops again I will be sure to complain about it.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING ,EVERYONE
Back to the build,very soon.

Went for a ride to put some gas in today and the trans felt loose as soon as I pulled to the pump.
when I drove off had the same not engauging till 1200 rpm's.
I drove home and parked the car.
I am going to check the fluid and go from there. Like external filter, cleaning solenoids again.
I checked the dip stick and fluid seamed cleaned. Was happy but now I'm not sure.
I have not got no grinding or odd sounds this time, possibly grounded shavings from other axle causing issues.
Don't know ,still got to look at it again.

Wow...how can the problem be so elusive? How about getting a new axle and new clip and calling it a day?! Otherwise you risk destroying your new one too, no?

It going to rain all day here so I won't be able to check it out till tomorrow.
It's been threw 3 axles. And with 2 it did the same not engauging till 1200 rpms.
Last time the axle poped out after it was doing it.
I assume it's on it's way out again.
It made it home with out being out so it's just sitting till its done raining

I guess I'm not understanding where the weakness lies...what part is failing causing the axles to take a dump? Or is it just because of how low you are?

Get some oem axles man. Try them out gently. If you're not moving until 1200 after doing that then your tq converter is damaged
