Question '01 Base Converted to Type-S

I have searched the forum but don't see any mention of drivers doing this mod. (a base model with type-s parts installed)
Have I missed it?
Could you please post a link to it. Or discuss.

I know the main difference is the intake manifold (no big deal to swap) and throttle body.

I figure that junkyards are full of type-s engines and I could turn my base model into a sleeper type-s.

Different ECU and compression. So while you maybe able to swap over the TB and IM, there's lots more to do internally. Not to mention different exhaust system, higher amp alternator, steering rack and cooling system.

As for the non-engine parts, lower body, different wheels, perferated leather, white faced gauges are also Type-S exclusive.

I think there's more, it's probably in the FAQ thread.

Cool, so sounds like a no go for me. To make it easy, I would swap out a new engine, something I won't do.

Thanks

Yeah it'd be cheaper to just sell the P and buy an S. It's not like they're expensive at this point.
