A weird thing happened last night....

I got out of work around 8:00pm, got in my car, hit the gas pedal and my car started skidding. Got out, looked at my tires and my front right tire was practically flat. I checked the pressure, and it was 22 psi. So I carefully drove it to the gas station filled it up, and now it's fine. Why the heck would the tire pressure drop so much?? I couldn't find any nails in it. Has that ever happened to anyone else??

Thanks!

I've heard stories that if you hit a pothole, rather hard, the tire will become unsealed from the rim for just a split second, deflating the tire...

Did you hit anything???

Yeah, I actually hit a rather large bump in the street before I realized my car was skidding. Does it usually happen more often when it's wet outside?

Word of advise:

Check tire pressure once a month min..............in the morning when the tires are cold, NOT after you have driven !

I usually do check them once a month. And the tire was fine in the morning. I don't see how 10 hours later it lost so much pressure.

Yeah they're suppose to be 32, mine somehow went down to 22 in like 10 hours.

The deaf man says: I hear ya! As he went to buy a new stereo...

I carry a portable ait pump... when i had that flat in December (20 degrees) I tried usingit.,.. the tire was totally gone... zero psi. I fired up that pump... waited ten minutes... 1psi... That thing is worth about the finest outhouse wallpaper money can buy. So I changed to the mino thing. I think from now on my new car criteria will be a full sized spare. Do BMWs have full sized spares? I know VWs do... but Since I hate VW and Audi... can't get one of those...

Sometimes cold air deflates tires........it's happened to me before, especially if it sits outside overnight.

It's not related to anything other than hitting something, REALLY hard. And even when that happens, it doesn't mean you'll lose air in a tire...

If you did hit something, rather hard, it could be a possibility...
