VTEC Problems Help!!

Hey guys , i seem to be having a a little problem, once in a while when the car goes into vtech it will get stuck and hesitate , it makes almost the same sound as when you hit the rev limiter, it will stay doing that until i let of the gas and try again, then it may do it again or not, what do you think it is the actuator? anyone know how much one can be? or something else? HELP ME!! this sucks when i need to speed!!

if your oil pressure is low ,as in low oil level vtec will not engage, and instead you will have the ecu enter the fuel cut/rev limit

Never happen to my CLS before, but I know on my S2000, if the car is not up to certain temperture, it will not Vtec.

If you have a VAFC it could be acting up. It could also be a defective VTEC oil pressure switch. If you checked the oil level and it is fine then you may need to look at the oil pressure.

Of those three things I would say the VAFC is the most likely culprit and the easiest one to test by bypassing it.

faulty bypass valve is really gonna let you go into vtec, but with no extra power, kinda like a cl-p. but what you have sounds like what I had in heavy rain once, the car makes a crazy noise and boggs. any lights go off? check your CAI connection. Maybe your throttle cable is loose?
