VSA Problem

Hello, all. I am hoping that since there are so many CL owners, someone has experienced the same problem that I have. I warm weather (usually 80+) the VSA light and yellow triangle will come on after a short period of driving. Usually after one or two turns. If I turn the car off and back on the light goes out, but will shortly light again. I have checked my tire pressures (they were slightly off, but this didn't fix it) and I am not driving hard enough to make the tires slip. I think there must be a bad sensor or ECU problem. It's going in soon - does anyone know of any similar experiences? Thank you!

Did you get new tires? I heard if the tires are larger, than it might throw off the VSA.

Hey Brandon, long time no see.

I had a similar problem with my TL... but it hapened would happen in extremely cold weather.

Turned out some shit was fucked in my ECU or something. They fixed it just fine.

It sounds like something that could be diagnosed quickly by your Acura service center. It should no doubt be under warranty, so I'd go ahead and schedule an appointment before it becomes too much of an inconvenience.

Yes, though it will be my first experience with an Acura service. My prior experience with VW service has taught me to find out what it is first, then make the technicians understand. I have over an hour drive each way to the dealer, so I don't want to make the trip twice.

I did not get new tires, so my bet is a sensor or the ECU. Probably the ECU, since it seems to also be sluggish when the VSA light is on. Anyway, I'll get it in soon. Thanks a lot!

The VSA light will come on if the brakes are overheating (courtesy of the HELMS manual). There is a temp sensor, and if the VSA or brakes heat up the system, the light will come on for about 10 minutes (until the brakes cool down).

This is only a single scenario, but could be involved -- that or the ECU or VSA subsystem is brain damaged...
