Huh, is that Ben Treynor's S600? He also had or has 2 Vipers, a Supercharged Yellow RT/10 and he just got an SRT 10 for his wife. He previously had an M5 and an F355.

Oh, and if its his car.....he's far from an old man, the guy is in his late 30s I believe and has 2 young kids.

Edit: I answered my own question, he has the S600 and 2 Vipers.

"its not that fast" 4610 pounds one of the heaviest cars on the road. top notch luxury, and finish. 493hp at 5500 rpm and 590 trq at 1800 rpm is insane. and at just under 125,000 inthe top 5 fastest factory cars this year. and in that catagory probably weighs at least 1000 pounds more than the competition:P

holy fuckin shit,

beltfed is he a member on mbworld.com??

thats crazy as shit, if u get some stickier tires on that mofo it can pull a very low 12, u need some really sticky tires to take advantage of the 590 foot lbs @ 1800 rpm.

does any one have a copy of the slip, i wonder what his 60' was.

I'm sure he is, he's been a regular poster on the VCA board for years now. Ben is a true car enthusiast and he's not pretentious about the cars he has or had in the past, that's cool.

in a post on bmwm5.com he wrote that his 60ft time was 1.9 and in need of improvement. RENNtech has an upgrade which ups the boost, removes the governor, raises the redline in 1st and 2nd, and so on. Should be good for another 30-35 HP

Hey BigPoppa21 - Whats up with the MBs? I thought AMG was their performance line. So....How does why does the CL600 and s600 have more power and cost more than their performance brand AMG???

34, actually. But I call it "old geezer racing" because I still think of the S600 as an old guy's car

FWIW, all my 60's were 1.97 - 1.98 except when I tried to leave hard and spun my way to a 2.20. 1/8th mile was 88 mph (no time though, problems in the left lane timing), and 1/4 was consistently 12.45 - 12.52. It's a great bracket racing car.

Oh, and I ordered a pair of 275/40-18 Potenza S02 "Modena" tires to get that 60' down into the low 1.9s. Hopefully that will be good for my first 12.3x when I go back to the track this weekend.

What's doing Ben, good to see you dropped in.....hopefully you'll stop back to read this .

Trust me, most 20yr olds would pimp around in a new S600. You have very good taste.

Do you drive the SRT much? I can't imagine you would with a Levin SC RT.

^^^ Understatement ^^^

Best run so far is a fairly pathetic 10.11 @ 152 with a 1.60 60'. I'm hoping to break into the 9's once the chassis setup is complete and we get a bit more low-end on the car. I've also just got to work on that launch...

Update on the S600: 275/40 Potenzas are on, and the ECU is in a FEDEX box on its way to RENNtech. Their latest software gave +52 RWHP, +70 RWTQ (!!) on an '03 CL600, and I hope it yields similar results on my car. Going to the dragstrip this Saturday to see how well everything is working. Wish me luck!

The S600 is also a 4-door, and it's quicker and faster than the E55 in a straight line

The E55 is very nice, however.

treynor glad to see the cars in your hands, I followed the viper build up for some time but lost touch w/ it a few months back.

Glad to hear your tearing up the asphalt up there w/ it finally!

also glad to see you didn't get the S55, The TQ on the v12 should sell everyone on that car!

The reasoning behind the S55 v. the S600 is simple. The S600 is brute force....whereas the S55 is designed for everything...straightline and twisties....
