Vibration during breaking

During breaking I feel a vibration in the peddle. I am not sure what it is but my younger brother that thinks he is a car guy says my rotors have warped. He said i actually need to remove the wheels to find out which one but that it is a possibility that all of them have warped. Any truth to this? If it is, what brakes do you guys suggest. I'm not a racer. I don't want any squeeks and stuff. He told me to buy brakes at the dealer and rotors at Autozone or some other parts store.

Can someone also let me know how to change the brakes? With the help of you guys I have already replaced my radiator and I liked saving $600. SO hopefully I can save some more by doing the brakes myself.

Thanks in advance.

Brakes can be done on your own.

The rotors have warped if you're getting a vibration on while braking. I replaced my rotors after my stock ones warped a second time and my aftermarket rotors warped as well. This could have been due to a stuck caliper which was making a funny sound after getting off at an exit. It may have also been caused by the fact that my rotors were slotted and they were put on the wrong side.

In the group buy section there should be a group on rotora rotors, you might want to check them out, also do a search for rotora. I think they might be selling pads with these as well. Hawk HPS pads can be bought at tirerack.com, which are made from the same compound (ceramic) that the factory rotors had, this should reduce the dust and also prevent noise when braking.

I have searched but could not find instructions on how to do it. This will be my first time doing brakes on this car so I don't want to do anything wrong.

they ae warped if u feel the peddle vibrating while braking, also sometimes u can feel it through the steering wheel. i changed mine out to brembo rotors and VGX semi metallic or ceramic pads, barely any dust and excellant breaking power. they will not warp again no matter how much stress u put through them. acura rotors or pads suck.

if your car is still under warranty, take it in and have them resurface the rotors. i took mine in a month ago for the same problem and they said the front rotor was warped a bit so they resurfaced it and replaced the front pads.

It definitely sounds like the rotors are warped, because mine is doing it also. I've heard from many of the Dallas thread guys that Rotora's and EBC Greenstuff pads are the way to go. As soon as I get the $$$, I'm getting them

Are the front rotors the same as the rears? Tirerack.com has only the fronts and no rears.

Too thin. How many times have they been re-surfaced? Most dealers wouldn't usually warranty rotors unless you're lucky and they are pretty friendly.

I replaced my rotors with Rotoras. I got them from www.streetbeatcustoms.com. The price was good, but it took them forever to get to me. I think there is a group buy for them. Maybe you should get them there.

I got EBC Greenstuff pads. I like them a lot. They don't spit out a lot of brake dust and they are relatively quiet as far as brake pads go. I got them from www.thepartsbin.com. They were pretty good.

You may want to get some new stainless steel brake lines and replace the brake fluid while you're at it.

You can always try out ebay as well.

They are not the same. The dimensions are different. The fronts are 11.8 inches and the rears are 11.1 inches.

QUOTE]

I have never resurfaced the rotors. I have 30K miles on my Cl. Just doesn't seem right now that I think about it.

I bought my rotors yesterday on ebay.

What do you think?

Now i just need to buy brake pads.

vibration in steering wheel = front rotors

vibration in pedal = rear rotors

what is happening when it vibrates for a week, then goes away and stays away for months?
Can rotors (more likely pads) "unwarp"

I eventually want to get the slotted aftermarket rotors and better pads.
