Vibration at 75mph.

At 75mph on the freeway when I push the brakes I get some serious shaking in the steering wheel, seat, etc...

I thought it was warped front rotors - so I had them turned yesterday... didn't help the problem at all...

Has anyone else experienced this and what was the fix??

I guess I could have the rear rotors turned as well, but it doesn't seem they would cause this vibration?

Sounds like they didn't fix it right the first time. Still sounds like warped rotors to me.

is it possible for pads to be warped?
also, are they aftermarket rims/tires? it could be the wheel is not on the center of the hub...meaning u need hub rings....

I need hubrings for vibration on speeds above 150 km/h, roughly 95 mph....

Sounds like you might have warped rotors or the something is wrong with the tires (cupping?? balance??). I had a bubble in my drivers front tire, and I got a slight vibration at certain speeds. Swapped out the bubbled tire for a used oem, and it rides nice again.

It's frustrating as hell - the car has 51,774 miles on it - just out of warranty. Trying to see if Acura will do something about it - I already paid to have the rotors turned at my store, only $50 but still...

It's bad on the freeway, not so noticeable at lower speeds.

The turning of the front rotors actually seems to make the problem worse - very strange...

Acura of Columbus will not perform the service bulletin as goodwill since I didn't buy the car from them - they gave me Acura's 800 number, they're closed.

Not impressed at ALL with Acura service so far. They wanted $536 to replace the front/rear pads rotors. WTF?!?!

I can put PowerSlot rotors on and Greenstuff pads for less than that...

Maybe I should have bought a G35C after all.

Just as a followup, Acura of Columbus went ahead and replaced all 4 rotors, and pads too...

Hope that solves the problem - if not, Powerslot will have an order from me. That vibe sucks... makes my smooth CL-S feel like an older Infiniti I30... the brakes on those were risky.

:P

I had the same problem. I had the rotors machined at around 1500km, but around 15000km there was vibration again while braking at higher speeds (ie above 100km/hr sometimes even less!). Took it back in and this time they turned the rotors again and replaced the pads (which they should've done in the first place) and now the car brakes nice and smooth even when it's going 185km/hr...I just had to test out how fast 4th gear would take me! I think it was my front rotors that were messed up.
