2 days ago I started hearing a whirling noise from my right front wheel area...I dropped it off at the dealer who said they couldn't reproduce the sound, but they assured me it was NOT the brakes or rotors...PISSED, the second I drove off the lot people were looking at me coming down the street because of the loud noise...

Tonight it seemed to get worse - It is the most fu*ked up sound and now the stearing wheel is vibrating like mad!

This sound occurs at all speeds and when I come to a stop it sounds like something is being tightly wound inside the wheel area...

Any ideas?

I have a test drive appt. Wednesday

 

Tell them to look at the bushings and the ball joints. I thought it was my shocks too but it ended up being the bushings and ball joints.

Also, I think the shocks leak when they go.

Try to look for fresh fluid in the wheel well area.

 

Sounds like a cv joint. If it clicks or gets louder when your turning, that is the suspect.

 

if its a shock, listen for a knocking noise, also oil leakage as red-cl mentioned.
