Thanks to Shawn's posted instructions, yesterday my V1 became a permanent part of my cl-s. Thanks Shawn. I just wanted to add I discovered the black wire was not my ground wire, instead, it was the blue-green wire (leaving the black and yellow wires as useless). I downloaded the instructions, including the pix onto my iPaq, went to the car and followed the instructions--Easy! So, if you have the phone cord type wire on your V1 now and intend to hardwire, it's not the black wire for your ground. Hope this helps a little.

Where did you put the remote? I put mine under the not an astray and next to the heat switches. Cleaner than on the steering column.
