UR pulley install questions

Just ordered my SSc kit from josh, and had a few general questions. For the crank pulley, what is the best way to get the bolt out on a 6 speed? Also, is the PS pump reverse thread? What aboout the alternator? Any tips greatly appreciated

get a 19mm socket on it, put a breaker bar on that, and a cheater on the breaker bar. wedge it either on the ground or onto a suspension piece, and crank your car for 0.1 sec. make sure you pull the ignition fuses or use the valet. should be simple

Works for me, just recently on Samir's car I put a stock crank pulley back on and I used the stock 19mm lug nut wrench that comes with the car put the extension tube that comes with the jack for more leverage onto the wrench wedged it between some suspension pieces got it to the right height level, made sure everything was taught and cranked the car over, after taking out the fuel pump fuse that is, just in case, its not a big deal if it starts, but I try an avoid it.

The Honda guy that did mine took the passenger wheel off & had complete access to the pulley from there. He was done in 15 minutes.

Thanks guys for the tips on the crank pulley. What about PS pulley and alternator? Are either of those reverse thread?

No, neither are reverse thread. However it's best to use a gun to take off the nut since the gun will take the nut off before the pulley gets a chance to spin.

anything else just ask again.. i spent a LONG time doing the install, because it was cold, i was getting dirt dripped on me a lot, and even though everyone says it's easy, there's no exact instructions.. but if you are mechanically inclined, you'll figure it out. not much to break around there, either.

Man that friggin crank pulley just will not budge. Im kinda scared to try the crank the engine with the breaker bar wedged idea. Where exactly am i supposed to wedge a breaker bar? any other way to do this? Also, am i supposed to loosen the crank pulley with the belts on or off? And how do i keep the pulley from spinning other than having someone press on the brakes?

Ok finally got that crank pulley off and the new ones installed. Man what a bitch. Used the suggestion of the breaker bar and it came off. Did not sound pretty though and car back fired. So hopefully nothing got fucked up. Now, my problem lies with the alternator pulley. It absolutly will not come off. Im holding the old one with some plies and the nut seems like its spinning but its not coming off. Is there a trick to this im unaware of?

Yes very, and i had no belts or alternator in or side mount. Like i said didnt sound pretty and im worried about my car now. The Crank pulley is on, the Ps pulley is on. Its all ready to be put back togeather besides the alternator. evidentally according to the manual you need 2 wrenches to get the alternator pulley off. Shitty because i dont have a 22mm wrench, which means i have to wait until tomorrow to put my car back togeather. Damnit
