Really? I knew there probably be a difference between the S models and the P models. But I didn't think there would be any difference for the manual S. At least that was the impression they gave me.

Sorry for the confusion.

I'm just guessing but I would suspect that the timing will be different as well. I could be wrong but it seems like more timing is pulled on the 5AT when nearing red line.

Haha.. I wish it was that easy. They will keep your car for up to a week at a time my friend, and many times through the whole testing phase... They've had my car for a total of 9 days so far. After I get it back for a while, they suppose to call me back to install and test out new maps and dynos.

So if we can find a local person that can donate their manual CLS, that would be great.

do you know if you'll be able to switch between stock settings and chipped settings? looks like we may need to do a little testing on the back roads.

did they get their dyno, or are they estimating gains?

That would be a good guess. It seams like it goes a bit flat at the redline shift,....which is probably a good thing.

Nope, not yet.. getting off at 5:00 pm pst. I'm calling them now to confirm when they will open till. I can't get off any earlier tonight because of a meeting. If I can't make it, I will have to pick it up tomorrow.

Matt, I don't think I have any kind of map switching function yet. I will for sure ask for it. As far as the gain, I'm guessing is the dyno, because when I dropped off the car 9 days (friday) ago, they were expecting their dyno to come in the following week.

Hey guys,

Sorry for the delay. I had to work late on Monday, so I didn't get to pick up the car until tonight. So anyway, before I post the dyno, I'd just like to say a few things first.

1. Please don't take the actual HP numbers as literal, but more focus on the percentage gain between Unichip and base line dyno results.

2. I was actually quite shocked at the actual HP numbers my self until they explain to me that since they don't have their in house dyno setup yet, they have to take it to a thrid party dyno shop to do the dyno, and the one they took my car to have always shown overall lower HP numbers than the other shops.

3. My car went to them as is (what you see in the signature minus the chip ). Therefore, I don't know if my 19's would have affected the numbers or not. But again, what is important is the overall percentage gain over base line dyno. Maybe they dyno in the wrong gear??

4. Right now, the chip is available for sale if users is willing to hardwire. But in order for them to produce the Plug and Play wiring harness, we would have to show them some interest. We can discuss more on that after you guys decide for yourselves when you see the dyno.

5. The dyno I will be posting is just the graph the dyno shop gave to Uni-Chip. Jack told me that he will be getting the exact numbers in a few days, and he will email the uniform Uni-Chip Dyno graph to me for posting as well.

6. Sick-Speed guys, it does sound like they might have to get a car to test/tune. They think with a manual, they can get a bit more power compare to auto.

7. S/C guys, I know that you guys have pretty much decided on the E-Manage. However, I spoke with Jack and Tony briefly about the problems UniChip might have with the FI guys with Fuel. But I guess, they do have that part figure out now, so I guess if Steve, or anyone else is willing to work with them, they will be happy to work out a chip for you guys too. They mentioned something about the chip being able to run extra fuel injectors to solve the fuel issue.

8. Price. The unit runs about $700 - $750. So I guess it up to you guys to decide if it's worth the money. To me it would be, since the CT Exhaust is almost just as much brand new.

9. TL guys. Is there a way we can confirm that the CLS and the TLS share the same ECU and harness configuration? Can someone link this info to where ever all the TL guys post?

10. Last thing... Again, I know that my base line only shows about 200HP with HEADERS!!, but I'm sure if I take it to another dyno, my numbers would be different.

So here it is....

The bottom two line is not the torque curve. It's the A/F curve. But still notice how much of an increase it is. Also, they say that they could lean the top end out even a little more, but the difference would be around 1 or 2 HP at the wheel. So right now, they are happy with the gain.

So, what do you guys think... Thumbs up or down?

I see it. Very nice work man!! Those are some good gains across a broad range. I would definitely be interested in one for a 6-speed.

The bottom line is not the torque. It's the A/F line. But the torque could be easily calculated. Plus, when Jack send me the UniChip version of the dyno sheet, it will have both the HP and Torque on the graph.

Extremely intrested but I need to know some things first...I would like it to be plug and play for sure...Also is it adjustable by us or must it be send out every time we get a new mod and if so will the reprogramming be free or will we have to pay for that also???Does the timing get adjusted or increased/advanced or is it just the fuel curve that gets adjusted??Does the V-Tec engagement rpm change or is it adjustable??What exactly is done to get this power increase??Also I'm expecting this is for a CL-S 5AT w/ I/H/E...but will pulleys require a new map or will that be fine...like I said answer these questions as best as possible please but I'm seriouly intrested!!!Also see if you can get a group buy of like $600-$650

Yeah this looks very very good to me but I would need it to be plug-n-play as well and set up for the 6spd with i/h/e.

If this thing was a plug n play...would you be able to unplug it when you take the car into the dealer and them not know it was there???

Other than that it looks freaken awesome!!!

Nice gains...Like the others have said - How easily does it install/uninstall, is it adjustable, and can we get a GB going?

Okay... I try to answer all of the questions best I can.

when do you want to race?
Any time Matt. Well wait until the road is dry I guess. I sware, it feels like my car just shed like over 100 - 200lb... maybe now I can keep up with you.

Extremely intrested but I need to know some things first...I would like it to be plug and play for sure...Also is it adjustable by us or must it be send out every time we get a new mod and if so will the reprogramming be free or will we have to pay for that also???Does the timing get adjusted or increased/advanced or is it just the fuel curve that gets adjusted??Does the V-Tec engagement rpm change or is it adjustable??What exactly is done to get this power increase??Also I'm expecting this is for a CL-S 5AT w/ I/H/E...but will pulleys require a new map or will that be fine...like I said answer these questions as best as possible please but I'm seriouly intrested!!!Also see if you can get a group buy of like $600-$650
1. It really depend on how significant the mod is, I would not think that one would need to get the chip to reprogram just because of pulleys. Since it really has nothing to do with increasing air or fuel.

2. I do not know if Uni-Chip sell the tools for customers to adjust the cars themselves. And it would be up to the authorized dealers on wheather or not they charge you to reprogram. Right now, they will sell it with the Map that is in my car for the Auto guys.

3. Timing, A/F, and Vtec can be adjusted. But in my case, they did not lower or raise my Vtec engagement. Don't forget, we can run multipule maps, by just flip of a switch. We got the power increase just based on tuning the timing and A/F. Did you notice how much higher the A/F curve is compare to stock?

4. For $600 - 650, would probably need a shit load of people to buy in on this. Since this harness has never been made before, so they would have to start from scratch.

Yeah this looks very very good to me but I would need it to be plug-n-play as well and set up for the 6spd with i/h/e.
Yes we do need a six speed to donate their cars with the standard bolt-ons. Plus it would be a lot easier for them to tune and dyno a manual they said. Something about the autos automaticlly shifting even when it's in the SS mode.

Yes again to the P&P harness. That's why we need it, so when we take it into the dealer for major service, we can just remove it.

They show me the unit on a BMW M3, and it took longer to take the panels out than installing/uninstalling the chip itself.

Hope this answers some of your questions. I know Christmas is near, so if everyone need time to absorb the info, that's cool. When everyone is ready, we can start a group buy, to show them we are interested in the Plug and play harness.

This all looks very appetizing, and for $750, looks very good...

Maybe I'm too green to understand why this hasn't been done, or if it even matters in the long run, but why wouldn't they also dyno the car for tq gains? Why wouldn't they mess with the unit some and change the vtec points and re-dyno this?

Ant brings up many good points, but with plug and play as well as adjustability and proven gains documented, I don't see why the extra $$$ would be a big deal if we had some more graphs showing different configurations...

Someone just slap me if I sound too stupid...

Torque can be calculated from the HP numbers, but just wait a few days, and Unichip will provide their official dyno graph with both torque and HP curve. The important thing is the percentage gain. I mean we are looking at about 7% gain overall, which is not bad at all. So the more power your car has already, the more power you are going to be able to extract.

btw, they didn't change the vtec engagement point, because I didn't ask them to... and I didn't ask them to, because I really didn't think of it then.

They would show different graphs for different setups if they had to cars to tune and dyno. But since I was the only one that went, they only have one map, and that is for Automagic guys with H/I/E.

No need to be slapped. No questions is dumb question. I will try to answer them the best I can.

Thanks...It really would be great to see a map with a different vtec engagement point and potential gains there as I am really going to guess that would help more than anything in the way of gains...
That being said, you are right: 7% for $750 is a huge gain in my book...
