Transporting your car

Anyone know any reliable and decent priced companies that will transport your vehicle from the west coast to the east coast?

I did.. from Washington DC to Oregon, took only 4 days. $1200 including insurance.. I picked a medium price. The cost range from $900-$1600. Train might be cheaper, but take longer.

My S2000 came without any issues. Just a bit dirty. I will try to look up the company later and post it here.

Do a search -- it seems this topic was recently discussed.

I ended up using http://www.caronatruck.com for transport of my car from LA -> Philadelphia a couple years ago. I believe the charge was $900.

My car came over fine, but I did learn some things in the process.

Basically all car transporting services are brokers that sub-service your contract to the truck driver. Even if they say they are not, they are. This is apparently how the car transport business works.

When you get quotes, tell the quoter what your other quotes were. Ultimately, I went with someone who undercut his compitition by $1. Pay attention to my last paragraph, odds are that your car will go on the same truck no matter what company you use.

Delivery time is a relative thing. The driver decides on his ultimate route. My car's delivery was about 1-2 weeks after the anticipated delivery date. Pickup was closer to schedule.

Not so with www.horselesscarriage.com They transport 90% of the show cars in this country. They have a fleet of trucks second to none. Expensive? Yes. Good? Absofreakinlutely!
