Tranny finally went bye-bye

I let my son drive my 02 CL with only 85K miles and he called me on the Long Island Expressway in NY and told me the car was smoking and shifting erratically. I told him to take it the nearest Acura dealer and they told him the tranny was shot. I was hoping they would fix it for free, lol, but when they found out it was a salvage vehicle, they said no way, no warranty. I new they would say that, but I got the 02 for only 2400 last near so I figured when the tranny goes, I'll have to replace it myself. So, I'm in the market for a replacement tranny.
Should I go for a remanuf or a used? Give me your advice.

Yeah, I'm thinking bout that too. I have a 03 6spd also, so I could use that as a guide to see what I need to buy.
