Angry Tranny blew.....question on warranty

My damn tranny blew at 49,500 mi. The bad part is that i just got my car fully modded a few weeeks ago. Most bolt ons i have now. Even though the tranny is covered till 100K i'm not sure if they will honor it bc of my mods. I didnt touch the internal engine or the tranny. its all bolt ons. do you think the dealer will not honor the warranty. gimme your thanks guys....

oh yah there is no way that the power increase would cause this rite???

Your mods wouldn't have anything to do with the tranny, go have Acura replace it. Refer to the Magnussen-Moss Act if they give you any lip.

Since it's a known problem just show up & report it. Don't mention any mods.

They didn't even say a single thing about my headers when I took it in, but the again I went to dealer who is an authorized distrubutor for comptech.

http://www.comptechusa.com/dealers.htm just incase you feel more confortable going to one. But if they do give you a problem refer to TallyCL-S' link

Your lucky, rick case is NOT mod friendly. They do not sell or install CT anymore. They haven't for 4 years. PBA doesn't either.

I had my tranny replaced and they never even mentioned all the mods. I had an AEM CAI and Comptech Exhausts at the time. They also replaced my front strut because it was leaking and I had H&R Springs at the time. It all really depends on the dealership. But since you said that they know you, hopefully you will be in luck.

I heard some dealerships will extend the warranty beyond the 100,000 warranty out of good faith. Is this a lie or have some people been lucky enough. My car just hit 100,200 miles and I am just wondering if the 100K warranty is cut in stone.

my 1998 accord V6 tranny was replaced no charge though it only had 46,000 miles it was 8+ years old and not covered under any extended, honda will more than likely be kind to owners beyond the 100K mark

Thats good to know, so its not something that the dealership can come back to me and say that Acura won't reimburse them if they replace the tranny when I have 110,000 or 120,000 miles on my car. All these dealerships got more stories than a WWII veteran.
