TL sideskirt DIY?
i already used the SEARCH tab and this is all i got..
does anyone have a more elaborate instruction on how to make them fit? im tryin to find out more info on where to cut it so it will be shorter, and how to join them back together.
any help would be much appreciated. thanks!
Copy and pasted....
1. Front spoiler: It doesn't wrap cause it's too short, so it needed to be cut into 3 pieces, fabricate extensions from eurethane, new mounting points & re-enforcements, trim many areas to allow to fit and shape to the curve of CL bumper.
2. Side skirts: Too long, doesn't fit at all, make it shorther, trim many areas to allow to fit, fabricate mounting points to fit into OE sliding rails at bottom of car.
3. Rear skirt: Too short, cut into 3 pieces, fabricate extensions, new mounting points & re-enforcements, trim some areas to allow to shape to CL bumper curves.
All pieces will need to be repainted, and front bumper also.

I am in the process of doing this.
You're not going to be able to fabricate any brackets, you're going to have to just basically layer the TL side skirts onto the factory side skirts. Kind of scary, but must be done.
Cut it right in half, trim off about 1/2 an inch from both sides (TL skirts are about an inch too long) then glue on....
pretty much it

Yea, i got a front lip "semi" DIY in the photos sections, and right now I'm finishing up my grill which hopefully I can get a digital camera to DIY that (its a bit nicer than just laying chicken wire grill material underneath the outer bezel)....after that (which should be soon) i'll do the side skirt and rear lip DIY as I finish the projects. I should be done with all of this by the middle of christmas break.

sags in the middle (grill)
sideskirts, cut in the middle where design is constant. you should have to shorten it, so do it accordingly. the ends of the sideskirts you must cut so it bonds with the ends of the cl ones (refer to distored's pix). must trim the top and cut off mounting tabs of the tl. prep the cl side skirts, test fit tl ontop of cl. "glue" it ontop of cl patch ends and middle.
easier said than done.

i got my grill last thurs and tried to put it on my car. the effin gap is still he there. i guess they didnt change the mold that they used to manufacture it before. the gap is abt a 1/4 of an inch frm the very edge of the front part of the hood to the top portion of the grill. the quality of the grill is not bad. its acutally better than what i've expected. it also fits quite well except for that huge gap on the top. i've contacted the seller on ebay and they told me to send them pictures and see what they cud do. on they're listing they said no returns but they said they're going to help me out with this one. i just dont know what help they cud do. hopefully a refund or maybe send me a new grill which will fit perfect like the stockies.
