tire wear with Comptech springs

I got the Comptech Springs on my 2001 Acura Type S. I took my Car to the dealer for 15000 mile check. They said my tires our wearing. What do I do? Is there a Camber kit that we correct this Problem.
Thanks for the help.

How bad? There is going to be a little extra wear I know. But if tires are only going to last 15,000 miles I may need to do something.
If they are half way worn thats ok. I never expect a tire to go much more than 30k anyway.

From what I gather is that your suppose to get an alignment right after you get the car lowered. I got my springs about two weeks ago and I am taking it in tommorrow for an alignment. I waited so the shocks and springs could settle.

If it gets bad, we should be able to have our tires remounted the other way on the rim.
As long as our tires aren't directional. I haven't checked, but I dont think they are.
As long as there is no white lettering in the inside. Again I don't think there is.

Also, the way I understand it, an alignment will only fix the toe in/out. There is no way to adjust the camber.
Correct me if I'm wrong....

I'm pretty sure they're directional....

There currently is not a camber kit for the CLS. I got my alignment DURING the spring/sway install. According to Jens;(acura mechanic)
Acura/Honda vehicles do not have provisions for camber adjustment nor do they provide adjustable caster. Should either one require adjustment it will not be possible.Hopefully in the near future the aftermarket industry will provide adjustable suspension components that can be fitted to TL/CL vehicles to correct camber caster problems. At this time I have not seen any such parts for these cars .Provided the car is not lowered too far tire wear should be reasonable but it will be greater than at the stock ride height.Increasing the tire rotation schedule can maximize tire life so try to keep that in mind

Jens also told me that its not true that these springs settle, its more like the bushing might adjust somewhat to the different geometry angles caused by the lowering.

So rotate rotate.

Guys, if you change the original design, be prepared to give up something. Ride comfort, component life, something. If you want the longest possible durability, you have to leave it like you bought it.

Everyone who wants to do that jump up and down. Not all at once though.

Intresting.. So a camber kit will correct all this tire wear???? Am I right???

What exactly is a camber kit and where does it come into play to correct the wear?
thanks

A couple of points from experience.
I got my springs on at 3k miles. By 10K my stock tires were completely worn out on the inside due to negative camber. There is no camber adjust on our cars. The camber adjuster kits according to Mike at Comptech were poorly made for our cars and will only allow a very, very small amount of adjustment. Supposedly re-worked adjusters are in the works.

So, I got the new tires put on and had the tech that has done all of my other work (aside from the springs) to do the work. For 6k miles everything has been fine. No uneven wear on the tires at all--I now check frequently. I think they just F'ed up on the alignment the first time, but there's no real way to prove that.

So, in short, keep an eye on the inside of the tires and watch out for any uneven wear due to negative camber. Novawhite, I'm not sure why the outside of your tires are wearing out, your alignment must really be off or something--the negative camber from the springs should make the insides wear out faster. I still have two almost new tires if you want them at some point.

yep guys JZ is right negative camber will wear the inside of the tire not the outside. The way the car is setup stock, the outside of the tires will wear out (feather) due to weight being shifted during cornering. Lowering the car should help the outside wear problem two-fold. One by introducing more negative camber and two by lowering the cars center of gravity and reducing body roll, thereby less weight is transfered when entering a corner. This problem is compounded by the soft sidewalls of the stock tires. I replaced my stock tires at 9K as my first step to correcting this problem. I changed to Toyo's T-1S 235/45/17.

Yeah bignasty--I couldn't believe how flimsy the sidewalls of the stock tires were!! It was like driving on balloons!!
