If you have Navi, make sure the tint you get works with it. The Navi antenna is under the rear package deck.

Also, ask them how they handle the rear window - tinting around the dots? Some sand them off. I've also seen them painted over too.

Before:

+ Tint percentage
+ Tint material (Dyed, metallic or ceramic) avoid dyed tint, it'll turn purple after a couple years.
+ Warranty (Against color change, peeling, bubbling, etc)
+ Tint over 3rd brake light in rear window (personal preference/check state law)
+ Dot-matrix in rear window should be tinted evenly or left alone

After:

+ Don't put your windows down for a couple days
+ When cleaning, don't use anything with ammonia

Think that's about it

There are some good tinting deals to be found on craigslist. Here in the DC area, a two-door coupe can be tinted for $69.99 with dyed film.

This is with the new computer-cut film, versus hand-cut.

In order to pass inspection, I need to strip my tint every two years so dyed film is fine with me-

first find out what your state laws are.
second if you have a dark interior, your tint will appear darker to the coppers, if you have a lighter interior, the tint will appear lighter...
third, do your research on films......

I had a tint shop in Florida that did bad ass work. For the dots on the rear window, they tinted up to the dot line and then used black vinyl over the dots. From the outside rear there were none of those tint bubble that you see on so many cars. Check to see if your local shop can do something along those lines. Divine Sounds on Dale Mabry highway in Tampa for you Sunshine State Ziners.

lol @ tiny cl-s

5% 3m. all the way around. I'm in texas, they dont really enforce the tint laws to much here due to the heat in the summer. My interior is perfect, no cracks etc, it does its job blockin the heat % UV rays.

In the past 7 years and 4 different cars, I've been pulled over only one time for speeding, 3 times for tint (all warnings), and 8-10 times for no front license plate (all warnings, one ticket)... One time I had a state trooper make a U-turn going 60 mph in the opposite direction on a freeway to come tell me my tint was too dark and I had no front plate

I know the laws in Texas are alot more lenient than most of Cali, but I didn't go with 5% tint not because of police worries, but more because I couldn't see shit out the windows at night lol

And to the OP, don't get a dyed film. Get it done right the first time so you don't have to get it re-done again a couple years later and pay the extra $$ to strip the tint.

^^ I hardly doubt a trooper traveling the opposite direction would come after you for tint. But if you say so I also have never had a front plate.

So dont BS flag me. Apparantly you know it all, and you've been driving heavily tinted cars since you were 14. (your 7 years and 4 cars remark).

Also, being pulled over 8-10 times for no plate, 1. you are stupid, put the plate on.
2. its complete BS, because in TEXAS when you are pulled over for equipment violation they put it in their database and your shit would have been impounded after the mmm 4th or 5th time.

You lose bro.
Next time you try to call out someone, do your math noob.

I guess in the 210 they are more worried about murders and drugs, and in keller, all they do is screw w/ kids and their cars.

Never thought of using black vinyl. Does it fill the holes completely? The guy I use here paints over the area so it's totally blacked out around the dots. I agree that it makes for a cleaner tint job.

I have. FL state trooper. Traveled about 2 miles to catch up to me. I was with a bunch of cars & I was not speeding. Pulled me over, with the tint meter in his hand.

Dude, why would he lie bout something like getting pulled over?
what is it the COOL thing now-a-days to get pulled over?

When i was waiting for a bracket to come in for my front plate I got 5 ickets in about 10 days for no front plate. The was a d()ck and disliked me cuz in high school i was dateing this girl that he used to sweat. He was one of those people that took his personal life to the job.

It did cover the holes completely in my estimation. I found it much cleaner than any other Acura/Honda tint I had seen in the past.

Thumbs up

Just got my car re-tinted at Cutting Edge Tint in Gaithersburg, MD. Terrance did a great job.

After shop supplies of $5 and tax, the total was $80.

A few of my friends went to this one guy back home in NY. He sanded down the black dots then tinted over that. IMO, that looks much better. Anyone have that done on theyre CL?

I ended up having my side windows re-tinted by Cutting Edge w/ 20%, and left back as it has been for six years. The dots were never tinted.

However, he would have done the whole car (sides and rear) with 35% for $80 total which is an excellent deal-
