Tinting Pics and advice
Hey guys. I was looking into tinting my silver cls...I was thinking of 2 options:
1)35 percent for the front and 20 percent on the rest
2) or 35 percent all the way around.
...I got a quote of 195.00 which is fine. I will pay for the quality..(this guy has a good rep)
Anyone have pics and advice on my options?
Any replies would be greatly appreciated...
I am an executive and I want my ride to look classy not like

i would agree....stick w/ one percentage all the way around, also if you're gonna tint your windows....tint your windows ...here's what 15% looks like

I went 50 fronts and 35 rears for my titnt, Quamtum on an SSM colored car. I think it looks good, the broken look does suck, but the guy would not do 35's...noone would...since how here in Utah the tinter gets fined if they get caught doing less than 50 up front

I dont get why people try to get 'cute' with different tinting percentages instead of just sticking with one. It's illegal regardless so why not just do it right with 15% or 20% all the way around except windshield of course.
I’m not even sure if 70% is legal in PA on newer cars like ours.
I think ANYTHING on the side window is illegal on cars newer then 1999.
As for percentages, that’s a personal opinion.
I went 35% on the sides because 20% would be asking for trouble.
Going with 20% on the back is great for dealing with tailgating SUV’s with baseball stadium headlights.
I definitely wouldn’t mix percentages on the two side windows, but SIDE to BACK is fine and hardly noticeable.
Where are you in PA? If you’re near me I can make a recommendation.

ive got 17%, i wish i got darker, the laws around here are weird, 50% is the legal limit and you cant tint your windshield. But you can't be pulled over just for tint, the tickets are only issued if your already pulled over. I don't think ill ever change it even if i get a ticket, unless they decide to pay for it.
i live in PA. i thought youre not allowed to tint the front window at all. are u or not? if u can, whats the legal limit? also, after reading this thread i got confused, is a higher percentage a darker tint and lower percentage less darker?
cuz if the legal limit is 35, then how would u get pulled over for a 20% tint? im confused

There is TONS and TONS of legal information HERE showing both side of the PA debate.

Also---I talked to a few shops---one had 5,20, and 35%. The other had 22 and 32%. The one with 22 and 32 said the 32% is better quality than the 35---not sure what he really means. I am a tinting newbie.

It looks DARK in that picture because of the way the sun was shining in the passengers side.
When you look directly in the side on a sunny day it’s not nearly THAT dark.
The place I went to was Thermal Sun Screen on 14th Street in Allentown.
Call 610-434-8778 and ask for Fred. He’s the owner.
He knows me well.
He’s done about seven cars for me since way back in 1985.

ive got 20% all the way around, not on the windshield obviously, but all the way around the sides and back. it looks awesome, i wouldnt want to have a mixture of tint percentages, it tends to look like something was a mistake or something is wrong. and even thoguh 20% is technically illegal here in wisconsin, i could care less, i know people with 5% on their windows and they never even get fucked with for it. 20% all the way.

Yo, that all around tint look perfect. I envy you, we cannot do that in Philly. Five O will be on your ass like white on rice.

I don't think that 35% on the sides, 20% on the back looks too bad as far as being two different tint shades. With a dark interior it just looks DARK anyway. With a lighter interior it might look a bit different.
I wish that it was legal to put tint on the front windshield. Look at some of the cars in commercials or mag ads, they usually have tinted windshields. Last night I saw a Toyota Prius commercial and you couldn't even see in the front windshield! Car still looker awful though!

Do you know what's so funny. Allan Iverson has most of his vehicles tint all around, and he drive around the city and the police does nonthing to him. But when someone does that, they are ready to take your car. I think it's all about power in Philly, because the Mayor and city officials also have there cars tint all around.
k
useph--I think Iverson has a tad more need to have privacy than the rest of us :/ anyway....does anyone have any pics of a silver cls with 35 % on the sides and 20 percent on the back?
Over here in CT we have limits on what our front windows can be...no darker than 35%...but I have friends who have 15% on their rides, and 5-0 hasn't done anything to them yet, plus I have a light interior, so my 35's don't look 35...I'm probably going to hook up some 15's in the spring or summer...after I pay off my damn accident...
