Tinting
Tinting
Hey guys i recently tinted my windows for 110$, went to the same shop where they did my bros car 07 maxima and it looks great on his. Mine looked great for 1 week and i started to see scratches and tiny like .5 mm diameter circles, where i thought they were airbubbles so i took it back to the shop, the dude said it was dust inside that caused the lil bubbles and since my car is pretty old, you can't get rid of all the dust o_O.. so im planning on removing these tints and going to a better shop that can do my car well.
Does anyone know what to look out for when tinting your windows? type of film? etc?
and Does anyone know any good bodyshop in Las Vegas? i just moved here 5 month ago and i dont know many good shops.
thanks for the help!

Pay the extra $ and get metallic film. It'll last MUCH longer than a cheap dyed film. Dyed film will turn purple in a hurry.
And what you're tint shop is telling you is half bogus. The circles are caused by dust, but its because they didn't clean your windows properly. At the very least, a tint job comes with a 1-year warranty. If they messed up, they should replace it happily, especially if its only been 1 week.
Dyed films usually only come with a 1-year warranty and will turn purple anywhere from 2-5 years from install date depending on how much sun you get. A metallic or ceramic tint should last over 8-10 years and usually comes with a lifetime warranty from the installer.

and
They are right about why you have bubbles but it's their fault for not cleaning your windows properly. Dust on the window because you have an old car?
They were just lazy. As for the metalic film, definitly pay the extra cash for that. It last ALOT longer (got a lifetime warrenty on mine) and keeps your car ALOT cooler.
ya, i think they didn't clean your windows properly too. when i got mine done, it took the guy over an hour just to clean them b/c i smoke and my windows were filthy. tint came out great and he joked that he should've charged me extra due to the cleaning it needed

ohh damn i wonder what type of film they used for my car o_O. thanks for the input guys ill look around these days.. gotta have the new shop peel off the gay ones i have on =_=.. so ceramic and metallic is the best huh?
LLumar makes some really good tint with a lifetime, transferable warranty that's good at any LLumar dealer. had it put on my 240sx in 2004 and it's still not purple and still no bubbles, even though the thing threw a rod and has been sitting outside since May.
