Guys--

Suggestions for where to get my timing belt and 105,000 service reasonably between Silver Spring and Arundel Mills?

I'd obviously like to avoid the dealer if I can.. Thanks for your help.

Yea that does seem high, try finding your parts online and weighing the difference between the prices you find and their part prices. You can bring your own parts, I personal have been extremely please with their workmanship and quality. Not including it walking distance for me.
Who did you talk to? Tell them Lloyd gave them a good write up on Acurazine and see if you can negotiate a deal

It seems that price is real close to the average. It's about right

Get a quote from Tischer Acura. They'll probably be competitive with that quote and provide you with a loaner for the day.

I got mine done for $780.00 at a local shop that works on Hondas and Acuras only.

I talked to Marty.. As you recommended. He gave me a quote based on Acura parts.. You think I can negotiate with him? He too is within walking distance for me so it'd be quite convenient.

Can't hurt to ask; Marty and Tim are great people, see what they say. Look at oemacuraparts.com or some other online part sites and see if there are a noticable diffference in prices. MrSteve gave a good idea, Tischer's is known to give good work and prices plus the loaner. I think we all have to make that choice soon enough.

Try going up there and talk to Tim one on one, he's the head mechanic and a wrench wizard. Both Marty and Tim couldn't be any more honest. That place has me hooked

Replace at Dealer
Had my time belt replaced at Rosenthal Acura about a month and a half ago. I got a special for $750 parts and labor. I called the dealer and the service writer told me of the special over the phone. regular price was $1095

How often have you used Rosenthal and what's your opinion of their service department? I've gone up there twice just to ask questions and the service manager ( never got a name } seemed a bit swallow.
