Throttle Body Spacer with CAI - ????

I got a P2R TB Spacer and gaskets from Excelerate. I was wondering if there are any fitment issues with a CAI?

It seems that using a TB spacer shifts or lengthens all the intake stuff about an inch to the right. What can I do to make sure my CAI will still clear and fit into that hole in the frame?

it will fit in the hole just fine but your polyurethane mount will not work anymore... i made a lil bracket out of sheetmetal and cut the mount in half and used it to bolt the sheet metal to the intake bracket ...

if i could weld i would have just cut and re welded the bracket on the intake... it'd be quicker and easier

Both good suggestions. Thanks guys. I'll see what it looks like after the install. I used a silicon coupler between the TB and the MAF assembly because my rubber tube tore. Maybe I can do some more cutting from that, that way I don't need to do any welding and stuff.

Thinking about it more, cutting the CAI length might be the best bet, u think a hacksaw would do the job right? I don't have a chop-saw or any other precision equipment.

Hack saw will work.
Just use the right blade for whatever your cutting.

Which blade should be used to cut AEM CAI? I imagine it's stainless steel right? If not, then it's aluminum?

It should be aluminum.
Aluminum is a soft metal.
When you get a blade it will say something like "soft metal"on the packaging and will most likely have a fine tooth pattern.

cut the intake??? then u lose the nice little hump at the end which ensures a solid seal.. and u are butchering a $300 intake... i would not do it.. and then good luck selling the intake.

what makes the most sense is to ruin the least expensive part imho

Just to clear things up, these cars dont have a MAF. If you are auto and type-s the piece between the throttle body and air filter is the VSA throttle body.

As for how to cut it, just cut it with a hacksaw. Mark off the distance you need to cut it in a few places and Run a piece of tape all the way around it so you have a line to follow.

You dont need the little bump on the end to make a tight seal. As for selling it, sell it with the spacer. Done deal.
