So my CLS6 came with the broken cable wheel in the cruise control - I jury rigged something up to keep it from slipping and presto cruise worked fine. But....I get a CEL about 10 minutes later...every time! It's a P1456 for emissions control stuff so I clear it and it never comes back...unless I use cruise!

I cannot think of any obvious links between the 2 systems? Anyone else every seen this?

How did you rig it up? I would think it is just a coincidence and they are separate events. I completely removed my cruise control and have no cel from it.

On a side note I still have my cruise control unit if you want to buy it.

 

From memory (at work now) I think I reinforced the (broken) plastic disc where the 2nd throttle cable sits? I'll confirm...
The odd part is just how it's repeatable! 3x now...
