Thinking of trading for an S2000

I use my Maxima to drive to work most of the time so I'm thinking of getting something that's a little more fun to drive on the weekends than the CLS. Any opinions on the S2000?

AWESOME CAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'd would get one in a heartbeat if I didn't have to drive so much and there was a tad bit more room
Next to some exotics s2k is the hotest car on the road today.

Its a great car, but not ideal for modding.

#1) 4 cylinder, comes fairly maxed out from the factory.

2) decent mods, (not comptech, MUGEN) are SKY high.

3) Its like driving a go-kart!

GET IT!!!

I sorta have both, an s2k and my tl-s and b4 that my cl-s...the s2k does everything our cars don't...and it doesn't do any of the things our cars do...

I say go for it, but why not trade in the max, and keep the CL AND get an S2K ?

You might want to wait until the new 350 Z comes out and take that for a test drive I'm sure it isn't going to be as nice but it could save you some $$. Unless you want a convertible.

It's a very different car. It depends on what you are looking for in a car. If you want a quiet comfortable drive, then the S2000 is not it. But if you want a car with great feedback, fun to drive and compete in autocrosses, then go with the S2000.

In most cases, the S2000 makes more sense as a 2nd or 3rd car.

I wish Honda would sell them with a hard top option. Having to special order a hard top from Japan for $3k sucks.

funny this thread came up, I love my CL-s, but as soon as the tranny goes for the first time I'm going for the s2k. If the tranny doesn't go, i'm keeping the CL. CL-s seems too looong for me... i mistook it for a sport car when i bought it... plus i really don't like the tiptronic...

I ended up trading the CLS yesterday for an S2K. Oh man is it fun. 90 degrees with the top down. I think I will own a roadster for the rest of my life. Its not as smooth and luxurious as the CLS but I would rather drive a sports car anyways. The driving experience is 10 times better in the S2K.

$27,500 for a 2000 Silver S2K with 20k miles
$23,200 in trade for my CLS non-nav with 15k miles.

this thing is way too much fun. I love all the waves I get.
