System is DONE!! Updated pics!!

All I gotta say is HOLY SHIT. After months of goddam work I'm finally done. I've been sick of looking at the damn car for months, but now I can finally appreciate it. The trunk is slammin and better yet its FULLY functional. I still have to put back the cargo net pegs.

Access to the spare tire well is completely accessible. I still have to clean everything with vinyl cleaner, chrome polish my subs and that's about it. But as of 1am eastern time, everything is in and just finished testing and tuning.

I couldn't blast it too long because I'd wake the neighbors. I hooked my subs up to my home stereo to brake them in. Now they hit like mofo's. After around 30 seconds of Buju Banton I felt like throwing up from the bass. But I'm in for a bit more SQ so I gotta tune it some more.

I can't stress enough the satisfaction of do-it-yourself installing. Total cost of install including tools, supplies, etc approx 400. Not including the actual equipment. but 400 bucks isn't bad. I kept track of all my receipts so I have yet to add it all up but its roughly like $400. Mainly fancy tools that I bought. But I know I definitely saved myeslf at least 2-3 grand of labor. So time to look for some NEW 19's!!!

Pics are in the sig link. Thanks for looking!

I like the older DEI's rather then the new ones for some reason. Now I need a kit too!! ahem!!

I got lazy on the tools holder. I started it but decided to scrap it. So I used a pouch that I jacked from a Land Rover loaner car that MB gave me for a few days. It came with chucks and everything. But the pouch is great. Has slots for the tools so they dont bang together and a nice pouch for my wheel lock key.

I'll take some more pics during the day hopefully tomorrow.

Yea i liked the older ones too, but i had some trouble with my 1100d and sent it in, and in return they gave me the 2002 model.

System looks hot...if you dont mind me asking, how much have you spent on your system total...I was thinking of upgrading my system as well, and was wondering how much I'd need to save to fully upgrade my system...

Also, I remember reading somewhere here that you tinted your windows at a place where the Yankees tint their cars...

I'm from the bronx, and was wondering where that place was and how much it was, or if you could recommend any other places i could get tint work done in NYC...

Thanks

Nah not really. You get used to it. But I think my lungs are permanently damaged and a few hundred brain cells are fried from the smell. I wore a mask and everything, but you stil lget the smell. I have nightmares about that smell now. But other than that..glassing is an amazing substance. You can do anything and everything with it.

I'll get you the number and location of the tint place. It's on Jerome. It's pretty well known if you ask around. But I havent been there in a while. I'll let you know. PM me if i forget.

Roughly around 2500 in electronic equip. give or takje a few hundred. i still have to add up all my receipts. The tint was 110, but back then i didnt know to remove the back panel. DO THAT before you tint. I hate that little hole they cut around the back light. i'm thinking of getting it redone, but i dont want to mess up the defroster lines.

All I did was dremel out the black "wing" that the chrome used to be attached to. I had the mesh grill in front of that and IMO it looked kinda nasty so I went ahead and just chopped all that off.

Hahaha..my bad. As you can see my garage is that tandem shit so I was too lazy to move it. I'll take more pics when I wash this car this weekend.

I have to leather condition the interior to so more pics of the deck will come soon. Thanks fellas.
