There's no catch. It's still a faster time and trap speed than any S/C'ed CL-S has been able to beat.
My 6-speed car made 40whp more than my automatic with the same boost level and on stock exhaust.

Dont take anything personally, its just that you are relatively new, and people on here have been doing this for a long time. Whta seems like new & exciting to you has been done lots of times. Just maybe try not to seem like you or your car is something spectacular. It is quick, no doubt, but its not like its setting any remarkable times.
Like I said, come back with some 13.6's and I will take back at least some of that constructive criticism.

I'll bet Steve's old 5AT had just a hair looser converter than normal, which allowed it to get into peak tq faster without breaking traction.
Steve do you remember what rpm it would lock up at the track?

My 15.4 @ 91 MPH is making me feel really :ghey: right now.
I give you guys mad props on your track times. You guys are putting up some incredible times. Just plain sick. Just curious though, are any of your CLs daily drivers or are they all weekend cars? Reason I ask is because for the same amount of money or less for a SC or 3.5 conversion you can buy a Stang, Camero or a late 60's - early 70's muscle car and be in the 13s pretty easily. That's why I'm wondering if these are not seeing the street everyday. Either way those times deserve a .

If I could afford to have a weekend car and a daily driver I surely wouldn't still have the CL as a weekend car. While it's fun to see the car reach it's highest potential it's never going to be as fast or go fast as cheap as many many other platforms.

If I had to choose between only a 3.5 or SC, I'd go with the SC. However, there is another alternative.... and it looks good too, perfect for your show quality car and will perform better than it looks.

Ok, so I think I found a SC kit that has about 40-50k miles on it. The price agreed to was $3500 shipped with gauges in the pillar and the Low boost pulley. what do you guys think?
Good deal or too many miles?

The charger is just recommended for service at 70K miles but doesn't mean it won't last much longer.
Depending on whats coming with the pillars that can alone cost quite a bit.
I know myself my Fuel Pressure, Boost And AEM Wide Band gauges alone were around the ballpark of $650-700. If its a custom gauge pod add another 100-200 bux.
I'd try and knock it down a few hundred bucks myself. Also when you get it change the supercharger oil. You can buy it at most GM dealerships at like 8 bux a bottle. You'll need 3-4 of em then make sure you properly reseal.

Me and my friend J over at "The Lab" are going to do the install, and he is planning on changing the oil and inspecting the SC to make sure it is fine. I'm itching to get more power, so it's either this or a brand new one once that comes available.

I've heard new kits selling for approx that price.
What are the gauges? Gauges could cost $250 each new or they could cost $25 new so that factors into the price.

Thats me in the pic above right in the Background with my hand in the air. She was a damn freak in person, she had a really accesable personality, lol.
Anyway, we're gonna be doing NOPI this year too, hopefully we will plan ahead and get a better, more decent looking model.

It's nice to see all the old school board members on this thread.
So Ron, did you go with the S/C?
Less than 2 more months until I get to drive the CL again, I have a few thousands of miles to catch up on. And probably some new 19" RJ wheels
