Sun Shields/Deflectors for the Doors

I wanted to know if anyone knows of a place where I can purchase sun shades, sun deflectors, wind deflectors, u know those pieces of molded plastic that u see on some cars that go around the top of the door frame.

The reason why I ask is cause everytime it is raining and I have the window slightly cracked I get water inside, OH and don't let me mention what happens when the wipers are on.

I have a set of them on my car for exactly the same reason. They are from weathertech and don't stick out like a lot of them do, they're pretty sleek compared to a lot of them. They mount inside of the window track instead of being glued on to the outside. Even with both windows down and the sunroof open, they changed the air pattern dramatically, not as much wind blowing around as before they were on, but still enough. I bought them from Herrington catalog but I think the 800 # is on them so if you want it, PM me.

Just a guess here, but I think you need to quit smoking.

I actualy got a pair of those same one's from the Herrington catalog for my cherokee. They are nice a sleek looking, not too bulky and there's no tape to install them becasue they fit into the window frame.

Rickm is dead on. I live about 15 miles from weathertech, so I picked them up myself. $45 plus tax plus ups. They must be installed with the window down about four inches, and they are very flexible. Once you get familiar with them, installation takes about 15 seconds per window. Just make sure after the front and rear edges are in, that you make sure the rest of the "flange" is behind the first layer of the rubber window seal. To take them off takes about 5 seconds, at most.

I use a car wash here in chicago, that has the best water blow off I have seen. Damn near a hurricane. They do not even move or flutter, period. They are a clear, plesent, see through medium gray. Made in Germany. And, if your windows are full up to one inch down, they cannot be stolen. These guys usually do a four page ad in Car and Driver, every month. Recommended.

I don't smoke, I just like fresh air in all weather, it also helps keep windows from fogging up

I bought a pair not too long ago. The installation was easy. I got some rattle from the glass vibrating against the deflectors, especially from the driver side, but it depends on the weather since I dont have the rattle all the time.

Do u think that someone could throw up a link to the deflectors, I'm having a hard time finding them.

Also one more thing, is it possible to get them in clear and have them painted with a transparent paint that will match the body color? If so what kinda paint do u guys recomend?

Here you go: www.macneil.com. These are the ones that fit into the window channel. No tape. No glue.

OK I just saw these things. Do they only come in smoke?

Is there a way to tint them myself and make them match the body of the car? Some kinda paint rather than using actual window tint film?

Oh 1 more thing those wiper blades, are those the ones that everyone talks about putting on their cars? Silicone that last for years, or is there another brand?

BIG PROBLEM

I called WeatherTech and "tried" to order a set for my CLS. The tech guy told me that they DISCONTINUED the set for the CLs. He went on to tell me that they had numerious complaints that owners who had them installed on their CLs, with their windows down, would lose them on the Hwy.

WTF

I want a set I even told the guy that I will still purchase a set anyway, but he told me that they don't even have a set in the back. They were discontinued last year Aug-Sep.

Guys help me out I NEED A SET.

That's a lie. I bought a set not too long ago (last month). Look for a company (I forgot the name) ad in Car and Driver mag.

Now let me ask all u guys this question. These things come in a smoke color.

Can any of u guys recomend something that I can use to paint the deflectors. Ovbiously I can use regular paint, but I would also like the benifit of having the ability to still see through them.

I want to paint them the body color of the car, so tint is out, work work right.

You may want to try them in first. Be careful when you roll up the windows. If you feel something is wrong, stop and realign the deflector. I broke part of the inner lip on the passenger side when I installed it in a hurry with no light.

I have had mine in for a pretty long time now, cruised to Cape Cod a couple of times with the windows down, flying and no problem with them even moving around. They actually change the airflow pattern into the car, not as much wind inside even with the windows completely open. Not sure what you would paint them with, they have some flex to them so make sure it's not something that would crack easily. If your windows are tinted, thay look pretty good, can't tell they are even on

Hey guys I got my WeatherTech wind deflectors installed. I spent 1/2 hour using 'Goo Off' to get that FKin redneck vinyl "www.weatherTech.com" off of the deflectors. So I installed them in 10 mins. But spent 1/2 hours checking it back over and saying to myself, there's got to be something wrong, it couldn't be that easy. So the only bitch that I have about them is that they place a strain on the window motors. My indows w/n go up all the way there was a 1/16" gap between the window and the frame. After I seated the deflectors by raising the window and helping/forcing it to go all the way up, now the windows close but the window doesn't seat all the way to the top. Honstly I haven't gotten to try them out yet, but I have a feeling that if the windows don't go up all the way that I am going to get alot of windnoise. I know because I can tell when I have a tiny opening in the window. But I guess we will be finding out today. Oh and I can't wait for the rain. Now it will be so much easier. No pig will pull u over in the rain, even if ur ride smells like Cronic, and u have the window cracked to air out the car . Oh I can't wait.

Tnx again guys.
