I the sun shade that they sell in the parts department at the dealer really worth the $30 or so dollars they charge? They say it is supposed to be custom fit for the CL. Is anyone using this shade?

would It be just as good to go to wal-mart or Auto-zone and get one for less than $10, Its gettin' hot down here in SO-CAL.

I bought one from the dealer, I think it is made by Heatshield. It fits perfectly and is deninetly worth the money. I tried with several kinds of sunshades but could not get it to fit properly. The CL has a huge windshield.
It keeps the car cool. When I don't put it on I really notice it.

 

I bought a regular car version of the $10 autozone foil-backed version. It is too small. Buy the truck version or long version because the windshield is very deep.

Is the Acura sunshade of higher quality than what you can get for less $$$ elsewhere?

Does it have "Acura" or "Acura CL" printed on it? (My guess would be just "Acura", since it probably fits both CLs and TLs.)

 

I just called my dealer & they can NOT get this item. A private dealer makes them for ACURA & it can not be ordered. That was the response form Montclair Acura in NJ - I better call Wayne from Park Ave..........

I looked at it yesterday while waiting to pick up some parts. It looks like it's very high quality and would definitely be effective. It's a roll-up type though. I like the type that has the springy wire along the perimeter since they can be folded and put away very quickly. Those types are very thin- just a sheet of reflective fabric. The Acura shield was at least a 1/8" thick so it probably keeps things cooler but it would take a little longer to put away and use more storage space. I don't remember if it had anything printed on it.
