Sub causing rattles how to fix?

Have any of you gone through the pain of fixing the rattles caused by a bit of bass in the trunk? Since its gotten colder out I've noticed my Alpine 12R has started making things in the rear window deck start rattling. What is the best way of finding the rattle and resolving it?

Thanks

Dynamat the trunk. This will help reduce the vibration.

unfortunately bro there is no quick answer to solving the olll rattle. u basically hunt them down and either tighten what's making a noise, glue it, or put something around/between it to prevent it from rattling again.

i got on in my car i am just too lazy to hunt it down cause it's intermittent. but i'm sure one day it'll piss me off enough to pull off the back seat and shut that baby UP.

but it's just a PITA to be honest. I had about 6-7 bad one in my ford probe. it took me about a month to find all of them.. i know that sounds STUPID long, but some were burried and others only were bad in when it was super hot.. etc.
they were all tempermental.

good luck to u sir

Check that you did not break the center mount for the trunk rods.
Mine broke and a few times a week I had too keep sliding the plastic piece that was left to the middle so the rods would not chatter together.
Also check your 3rd brake light housing.
You can try to tighten those screws from inside the trunk.
I removed mine completly because it was rattling.

Second on the trunk rods rubbing/hitting. I used some dynamat type dampening material to keep the rods from contacting. I'm running a 15" sealed and have no more extraneous sounds.

My problem is the 3rd brake light on spoiler, I've dynamatted the trunk, next thing to try is great stuff the hollow part in the wing itself. I think someone else here has tried it with good results.

if the trunk tab breaks off just use self tap screws and it'd be fine i've done that on mine.

Same with my car.
Dynamat the trunk is good too. I just did my srt8's trunk this weekend. 50 sq feet of it.

The rod mount was indeed broken off its mounting point. Is SOP just to drill it out and put some sheet metal screws through it?

Thanks

That's what I heard, but I never could get it back into the location to do it. Too much resistance. I just left it.

That's what i did. I put 4 screws in that sucker cause it came off again after I JB Welded it. If you close the trunk while your inside with a light and the drill, you can get the bracket to line up easier.
