I just installed my Option pulley today. Didnt have a chance to really test it in this 5 mph traffic. Ill have to go for a drive tonight. The stock one is huge and heavy as hell tho.

Good luck with your results and thanks for the helpful photos. Hoping to swap pullies at some point when I can afford to do the timing belt, etc...
I don't care how many times my friend explains this process to me, I'm still scared to try it! :/

I really want to get the pulley, but I'm trying to research what all I need beforehand (some people say they use an impact gun to get the crank off?)
I'd hate to buy the thing and have it sit in a box forever, because I don't have the know-how to do it..

with an impact gun u need, air compressor, hose, socket. too much money if ur not gonna use it. take it to a shop and ask them to loose the bolt for u, than when u get home, take if off with a ratchet. use the cranking method and tighten it down all u can with a ratchet and ur good to go. saves lots of money and time.

Ive got an impact gun and I didnt even use it to remove the bolt. I used the starter blip method. Easiest method IMO.

I'd also like to hear as much insight as possible... There's apparently only 6 left on that ebay page

its easy. civicdrivr, u still got the pic of the pulley and bar set up? post it up on here.
1st time it took me two quick tuns of the key. now it took me 1 but i held it in for a bit longer.
dont forget to pull the fuel pump fuse.
drivers side, all the way on the bottom, 15amp i believe

there are many threads if u search, I made a few on this topic cause I was probably the most skeptical at first... and then i was extremely impressed with the results.
I got my pulley done at my DLR. I just didn't wanna use the starter method cause I was a lil nervous for some reason. Even though I knew it would be fine. I just wanted to be safe.
u won't mess it up doing the starter method. so don't worry.
Buy a good socket though cause u may break a shitty one.
it's so easy to do, I just didn't wanna try and get the bolt off.
lol everything else I did myself. SO jokes, a frigging bolt stopped me from doing it

I used the starter trick too. I've done a few times on other cars, works great. When I did it, I left the tires on and turned the wheel all the way to one side, used an extension so the breaker bar was on the outside of the fender.
Here's a vid I found on You Tube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Zu5g95gpqo

Ok, just took some pictures. Hope this helps somewhat.
First up, the PS Pump tensioner bolt:
![](http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b378/civicdrivr/tensionbolt.jpg)
The other two bolts holding the PS Pump to the motor are located here, if for some reason your PS pump wont release tension, just loosen these:
![](http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b378/civicdrivr/pspumpbolt2.jpg)
And
![](http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b378/civicdrivr/pspumpbolt.jpg)
You need to remove this bracket to get the PS Pump belt out. It is for the mount, but it is not a load bearing mount. One 17mm bolt on the mount side and 2 14mm bolts on the bracket.
![](http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b378/civicdrivr/mountbracket.jpg)
These are where the bolts are for the pulleys. The red is the bolt locations that you will be touching (minus the mount bracket bolts)
![](http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b378/civicdrivr/boltlocations.jpg)
And for those of you using the starter blip method, have the breaker bar on the bolt and the end resting securely on the ground like this:
![](http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b378/civicdrivr/breakerbar.jpg)
Then pulse the starter a few times. You will hear a crack like something broke. That just means you loosened it. Congrats.
If you feel more comfortable removing the fuel pump fuse, it should be located in spot #1 on the drivers side fuse box.

One thing to add, when tightening everything up, dont overtighten the PS pump. That will wear out the bearings. The belt needs 1/4" deflection IIRC.

best way to tell...
AT NIGHT
turn head lights on and look closely...
if they dim significantly during the use of the system, then u know ur making ur alternator/battery WORK.
get one of those separate battery thingys for the system so the draw isn't directly off the alternator/battery.

I have an old UR underdrive pulley installed... it's a nice mod for the price. I have I/H/P. my under drive made my AC blow with less force, but it is not so bad. I would say it gave 7-10hp. You'll notice it smooths out the acceleration some and you'll be flying through the rpms faster after the ecu readjusts.
