Stock front brake rotor question...

Are the stock rotors side specfic? Can I put the left rotor on the right wheel & the other way also? Does it matter? Are they labeled left & right?

Generally any aftermarket or OEM rotor that is not slotted or perhaps even drilled can be placed on either side of the car.

The used stock rotor will need to stay on the side taken off from, but if you have the rotor turned you may be able to change sides. That I would check with the place that is turning/resurfacing the rotors.

To fix a warped set without spending $$ on new ones. My current rotors ae VERY warped & can't be turned again. I have a used set coming from a board member. So I need to keep them on the same sides? How can I tell which that is? Are they labeled? I'm not getting them resurfaced. They shouldn't need it.

If you put someone else's used rotors on your car you better make sure you have their pads from that side too. Otherwise you're going to have an issue with vibration b/c not all rotors and pads wear the same way. You need to have those re-surfaced and you need to get new pads.

Yes they come with pads. I'll have them checked before I put them on for warpage, but if they are fine I'm not getting them resufaced. I see no need to unless shey are warped. In fact my current set warped really fast after they were turned once. The 2nd turn did nothing but make it worse. Now they can't be turned again. They will do untill I sell the car.

If you are putting on used rotors have then turned. Who said they could not be turned again? A shop trying to sell you new ones! Rotors have a minimum thickness cast into them. A good shop will have a micrometer to measure the thickness. Ask them the numbers. If you can afford it, have the rotors turned on the car and not removed and put on a bench lathe. It does make a difference. It is also very important that you replace your bearing cups in the used rotors and install new wheel bearings (cones). The old bearing cups and cones do have wear patterns.
