Stereo Upgrade Question???

Is it possible to upgrade the stock speakers and amp to aftermarket without replacing the headunit?
If yes, what brand and model amp would you guys recommend?
And what draw backs and power gains can I expect by doing this upgrade?

Thanx in advance for any input!!!

Yes it is possible. How much are you willing to spend? Give me a price, and I can try and find some good components and amps for you.

250-300 For speakers, I definetly want to go with MB Quart

250-300 For amp, not sure whether to go with Rockford, Alpine,or
Eclipse...
The cheapest deals that I found so far is on Ebay

This is just my suggestion/opinion...

Try to listen to our system with a sub/amp upgrade first. If you search the A/V for my posts, you will see my 3 choices..

For an amp, I would get a PG Titanium series 4 channel.
Speakers I likes are Polk EX.

Yeah! Everyone else has their favorites.

I already have a sub/amp upgrade, I enjoy it, but the BLOSE
system pisses me off, I can hear the rattle in the rear speakers,
and the highs are not that good...

you can go with dan's CL-S setup with Focal Polykevlar components in the front, driven by an Xtant amp driving a woofer in a custom box. Fuckin expensive if you ask me, but his shit sounds damn good! 1.5G'z... Get polykevlar 6.5 if you can... my friend bought a pair for $620, but was ticked when he saw how much cheaper he could have gotten them on eBay. Many people think French people can only make bread and wine... they're wrong... Focal speakers are one of the most expensive speakers on the market... BUT TRUST ME... you'll get what you pay for on this one.

My personal opinion is this. What do you want? Sound Quality? Loudness through the subs? There are a lot of speakers for the fronts out there that I like. Im running Dynaudio, while Acura Crazy is using Foal Utopia. I just heard an a/d/s set for the fron, and I was really amazed!! If you can find the Orion HCCA 6s get them they are awesome. a/d/s comps are also awesome. You should also consider the CDT components. Have you heard MB Quarts before? Or do you want them only because you heard they are good? MB Quarts are a little too harsh for my ears. As far as amps are concerned, there are many to chose from. Either one of those brands for amps will do you good. I've heard all of them, and they will do the job. Just choose the one with better features(crossovers, etc) and the cheapest price. If you are looking in to getting subs you have many options. Be specific on what you want, be it SQ, SPL, or a mix of both, and I can make some recommendatiosn for you. If you do like smooth speakers for the fronts, at elitecaraudio.com in the for sale section there are 2 sets going on right now for an awesome price. One is the Rainbow Pros, anf the other is teh CDT HD series(top of the line CDT) I would of got those if I was looking for around $300 speakers.
