Starter issue when running errands .. weird (read)

In the last few months (and it has escalated the last few weeks - spring thaw? got me), when I start the car after it has sat for half-a-day (like at work), and go run an errand, the car hesitates to start and nearly DIES when I try to leave! Usually occurs after I've gone from work to the grocery store, for example, and then leave the grocery store after only allowing the car to sit for 10-15 minutes TOPS.

Any ideas? I haven't changed my plugs yet .. car has 91k miles now. Timing belt and other belts are done, fuse replaced connecting to fuel pump, fuel pump replaced (long story, wasn't the issue but hey, it's new).

maybe your alternator??

start the car and disconnect the battery if the car dies I'd say thats a good sign that your alternator is dead or dying

It could be your fuel/starter relay. Does this usually happen what the car is hot?

For some reason, the CL FAQ is gone from Geocities and I can't seem to find it here lol

I checked here: https://acurazine.com/forums/2g-cl-frequently-asked-questions-52/chodthewackos-acura-cl-faq-page-467288/

I replaced the fuel relay when I replaced the fuel pump - ended up being a bad fuse, who'd have thunk?

So that's not the issue here, assuming "main relay" is the same as the fuel relay...can you clarify?

This happens to my car in the Spring Months-I live in the Midwest where there is winter blended fuel and as a result, the car will stall or be hard to start after sitting for about 10 minutes or more. I have never had a problem with it because it usually cranks over on the second or third try. I have read that replacing the powertrain computer should resolve the issue as well as the fuel-pressure regulator as previously mentioned.

Hope that helps

Make sure the battery connection is absolutely not loose, also, did you inspect the spark plugs? I have a problem with the car takes just a few more turns to catch on, but once it's on, it doesn't sputter or anything. Did you do a scan to see if anything shows up?

no one has mentioned this..:

on my previous car it didn't have the purge solenoid for the fuel lines therefore when u park the car on a hot day vapor builds up in the fuel rails and when u start the car the first throttle or 2 will be wonky cause it's not pressurized liquid gasoline, it's just vapor.

MAYBE this may be indicative or ur problem ?

just a thought budy

Which fuse please? I'm having the same exact problem and it would be nice to avoid changing out the main relay. Thanks!

Just change out the main relay if you haven't already. Sounds like possible vacuum leak. I've had issues with thermostat sensor being dirty and causing my engine to spudder (MAF was cleaned at the same time, that might have fixed it). Engine mount control system vacuum line?

I can't recall but it was blue, related to the fuel pump/system and 15A, I think.
