srs light recall - they wouldn't fix mine

I took my CLS to the dealer to fix the SRS light issue. THey told me that it was a malfunction in my seatbelt buckle so they would not honor the warranty. Is this BS? Did anyone else get this response?

i had the EXACT same problem: SRS triggered by seatbelt buckle. Acura covers all seatbelt parts for life. and that even including the SRS extended warranty. mine didnt have the SRS warranty cause is a salvage but I told my dealer that the light is triggered by the seatbelt which is covered for life even if its salvage. once they pulled the code and was indeed the buckle, they replaced with no charge.

tell them that Acura coveres sealtbelt related items for life of vehicle. you can call Acura client services to confirm or tell them too. and if all else fails, take your car to another dealership.

thats cause the buckle is part of the seatbelt warranty. its for the life of the vehicle, even if its a salvage. they should have no excuse about changing the buckle since its not working correctly

^^^ I never knew that about the seatbelt system.

Is that true of all auto manufacturers?

What dealer? Palm beach Acura has an ok service dep. Go there if need be.
Rick case, & Delray blow.
Edmorse, or whatever the name is now(they sold it) is hit & miss.
If you still get no where call Acura's 800 number & complain.

This is what I'm always talking about with the South FL Acura dealers. God forbid your car is modded, they will refuse to work on it.
