So I pumped gas and went back to the car after I was done. Then....boom, SRS light pops and and doesn't shut off. Normally I thought that the CPU would just do a quick self test and shut it off automatically but it stayed on.

I thought it was a loose gas cap, which normally shoots the CEL/MIL light, but I took off the cap and put it back on and nothing.

Can't someone help me out with this issue? If not, I might just take it to school tomorrow and put a scanner to see what codes its throwing.

my srs light use to come on once in a while...dont know if u remember but my car was shot, then it fuked my srs sensor up some how...then i just reset that shit..now i havnt seen it on for a good while

 

that means something just went boom in ur SRS. u gotta scan it to find out whats going on. and i dont think u can just get away with resetting the light in this case.

 

actually, this is a common issue and it has to do with the seat belts I believe. I'm not saying not to worry about it, but it is a minor and easy fix. My 1st cls-6 had this and the dealer repaired it free of charge. The 2nd cls-6 I just bought also had this issue and the seller had it corrected, again free of charge. It's something with the seat belts most likely. common issue, the dealer should be aware.

Do some searches in this forum for SRS and you'll likely find a ton of other threads on it.

 

its most likely the seat belt buckle. i have to get a new drivers buckle

 

so just read the codes at school today and it came back as a 9-4 (passenger seat buckle switch). Something probably is shorted out or something. Going to bring it to dealer for a replacement tomorrow. Tried to clear the codes by jumping the wires at the harness but it didn't work out. Oh well. Just didn't want the airbag to blow in my face lol

 

the dealer will replace it for free. I had them replace my passenger buckle for the same reason.

 

my srs light has been on since I bought the car,
I have never botherd looking into it because it does not affect anything ,Atleast that has bortherd me.

But I do want to know something,sorry for the jack .

I get a side bag light that comes on every once in awhile.
If I push lightly on the passenger side bag it goes right off.
WTF is that.

 

that's normal^
even if u dont push on it, it will still go off. it happens mostly when ur turning.

 

I told them my SERIOUS light came on, wouldn't take it to them it it wasn't SRS lol .........Failed
