SolarGard Tint Questions

Does anyone on here have SolarGard tint or have heard of SolarGard tint? How is it?

I was told by a few people to go to a certain tint shop, and they use SolarGard films.

I know several people that run it.
I know a very reputable shop that uses it along side of Llumar products.
many of the guys at the shop have it on their own cars.
my father has it on his car, quality seems top notch.
lesser known brand, great pricing, nothing but good reviews from what I've heard.
I opted for Llumar Axcess for my car, but I can find nothing bad to say about
the SolarGuard tints. the shop offers a lifetime replacement warranty with both
their work and the product, so it can't be crap or they'd lose their shirts.

That's what I HAD on my car.

I just removed it yesterday because I got pulled over twice by the same stupid cop in 1 week (1 ticket, and 1 warning). Apparently there is NO tint allowed no at all in Illinois ,Now I hate the way it looks.

But anyway, it was really good stuff. Didn't seem cheap at all

Did any of you have the Quantum series tint? It is stainless steel based. I just want to know if it will mess with my gps. I have my antenna mounted on the underside of my roof under the headliner near the rear view mirror.

I was quoted $175 to do the whole car. Seem reasonable?

sorry to hear that.. i just tinted my windows with 20% SunTech High Performance Tint. I was quoted $160 over the phone and i payed $180 because they took the time to tint the whole back window instead of cutting out the brake light. I will get some pictures up when i can. The weather has been yucky lately here in Burbank,IL. As for getting pulled over... im , i have had it on for about 3 weeks now and passed like 7 cops and no lights behind me... its only a matter of time i guess.

I got it done today. It completely transforms the look of the car. Photoshoot after I detail it next week.

I paid $175. It looks great. I did 35 in the back and 50 in the front, so it's legal. You can't even tell the difference. I have black interior and I'm not into really dark tints. I had 18% on my Prelude and that was a pain in the ass.

The best thing is, even though the tint is metallic, it isn't messing with my GPS or cell phone.

I think that douche bag that pulled me over just has it out for me. He circles my street all day waiting for someone to park too far from the curb. Its like has nothing better to do, no other crimes to solve lol.

Hope you don't have to remove your tint............my car looks like s#*t now

If you truely wanted to, you can video tape him doing this and next time you get a ticket bring the tape in and say he is harrassing you. As long as you present the case correctly they will drop it. A kid I went to college with did that.

That doesn't work all the time, but is very successful at night. I was pulled over by a VA state trooper in my Prelude solely because of the tints. I honestly thought they weren't allowed to do that unless there was a moving violation, but I couldn't fight it. I didn't have a license at the time.

No tint allowed on the fronts in CA...I hate that.

Hate this "unfinished look" with tint in the back only!

^ Totally illegal and easy way to get pulled over.

California is anti-car coolness.

Everything is regulated on...emissions, looks, lights, license plates...you name it...we can probably get a ticket for it!

Damn. I never knew about the tint.

I've heard that they sometimes measure a lower cars headlights and give them a ticket if it isn't in spec.

Dam.

But thanks for reminding me about the plate. I'm heading up to NY tomorrow so I've got to put the front plate back on.

I think that as long as i dont speed i wont get pulled over just for tints.. the person who did my tints said he will take the driver and passanger off for free and put on 35% for $50 because they are easy to put on. Ill take a pic today when i get out. It looks nice out here but its like 35 outside.
