Skeptical on Power Ratings for Z track model
Just a little Skeptical....cuz it lists the Z at 280hp and 276 lb. tq....the track model weighs in at 3200 lbs. and is running on VOLKs....yet can only rip off a 1/4 mile of 13.8-13.9, not saying its not a great value or that 1/4 mile racing is what its intended for...hell, I'd get one...
, just think Nissan seems to be playing with the numbers a little.

plenty of reason to be skeptical... your point makes sense...
and the fact that with every single nissan to hit the market in the past 2 years it has been hard to reproduce the factory numbers.

I love how a sports coupe from BMW seems to be the prized lion to beat with every other car. Jeez, I remember when beating a Vette was considered a champion move. After all that modding to hopefully beat an M3 (roadster will be heavier mind you) and I won't believe it till I see it you'll be approaching the stock price of an M3.
While reading some articles this weekend I noticed the same thing. The specified HP/TQ figures along with the weight, I'd expect better times. Even the gearing is fairly aggressive and most didn't notice significant wheel spin when launching.
I guess it could be down on power, maybe not up to the claims?? Or the transmission could be a severe power robber?? One other thought is that these peak numbers come in too close together to make good use of the peak power?? Redline is 6600 with peak HP just shy of this and peak TQ comes in at about 4600 - 4800 revs but we don't know what goes on below this.
I really want to see a chassis dyno of this car, which might be interesting...

second, i wanna sports car convertible that's affordable...if that means i pay $48K fully modded instead of $58K for let's say the M3 convert, then it's a bargain
keep in mind Ern, that i'm modding NOT to b an M3 killer...i'm modding b/c i wanna race the car and personally wanna enjoy reaping the benefits of aftermarket performance products, plus i like the stylish look of the roadster curves and the fresh interior design
it's the whole package, Ern, not just performance...this is no news to u since yer a big advocate of the "modd all u want, it's not an M"...don't forget i ORIGINALLY bought the Stang GT convert before the deal fell through which later turned into the CLS b/c i wanted a convert...the passion of owning a convert still lives!!!
