Is it really going to be worth paying the extra money to get a new rim knowing that you'll probably end up scratching the other ones too? Most of us who have the Type S rims just learn to deal with it or replace them with other non-acura rims. It's almost impossible to keep these rims scratchless.

hmmm, i dunno. I have two rims scratched and one is 3 inches long and 1 1/2 inches wide. The other rims is scratched on 3 of the 5 spokes

You can get them polished/buffed out if the scratch isn't bad. There are some people on here that have sent them away and had them fixed but i dont know how it turned out.

You can get them fixed, depending on how bad, around ~$100 per rim. New rims will run you about $300 from the dealer. I say save up, buy some light rims for the summer, keep the heavy stock ones (w/scratches) for winter.

I first scratched my rims over 6 months ago. I waited to see if my driving habits would improve and my conclusion is yes if I get my rims fixed today, after 1 year of driving experience, I will probably not scratch them again. It was my driving, not the rims.

I got mine scratched in a car wash. A good reason to handwash your CLS.

In the first 6 months of having my CL .. I scratched my rims 4 times .. thrice in a car wash, and once against a curb my driving sucks

I got them fixed about 6-7 months ago and havent had a scratch since. It takes time to be completely aware of the rims on every move.

They fix scratched rims? They are only a block away from where I work.

Just so you guys don't feel bad, I scratched one of the front rims on my new Accord a few weeks ago. Maybe I'll save up and buy some new rims this summer. By the way, who do I talk to about becoming a member of the scratched rim club?

If the "scuff" is just in the clear coat, go find a professional detailer that has a gauge to measure the thickness of paint. A good detailer knows just how much clear coat can be buffed away, before the clearcoat is damaged.

If the scuff is down into the metal, either live with it, or call one of the wheel fix-it places. I tried two "wheel repair" shops in my area, and they just said that they couldn't guarantee that the wheel that I had scratched by a valet could be fixed in a way that would looks as good as new.

My tire dealer, Washington Tire and Wheel, in Los Angeles, said they had a number of a place that had the factory wheels for far less than dealer prices.

Some other people (I tried looking) said they had the web address and phone # of people who sold these OEM wheels.
