Grandfather is a car person and has ALWAYS had a Saab. Awesome cars if you ask me, their in a breed of their own.

Exactly. Boring is a matter of opinion. People will ultimately buy what they like. Regardless of what consumer reports or JD Power says about the car. But to get back to my original point which is that the Japanese unquestionably build the most well rounded car in terms of reliability (they are the best), and performance. Style is a matter of opinion.

Ok. That's one unreliable car I would buy.

 

Oh yeah. Lexus has so many problems with there cars. I read that all the time.

And all that hoopla about the Japanese making good cars. It's stereotype as well. For years the Jap automakers have been using subliminal messages in their TV ads. "Our cars good." "German, Swedish cars bad." Jap auto makers have also undermined certain reputable consumer advice sources into falsely reporting results in favor of their autos. The new Maxima kinda looks like a Saturn on steroids.

I had a 2000 though. It was a good car. No major complaints. I liked it a lot overall. Only problem I had was when the dealer installed new ignition coils (long story) and the mechanic didn't install one of the plugs correctly. Needless to say it came flying out of my engine. They tried to tell me that it unthreaded itself. They admitted they were at fault in the end. I had two Maximas. Never had a problem with either. Had over 70k on each.
