let's see...your car is chipped + other mods, probably a manual tranny. you're probably in the very low 13s or maybe even high 12s right? there's no point in racing because we'd be way over matched. A CL with h/i and a 60-75 shot would most likely still only run high 13s or mid 13s w/a tail wind.

that said, come down to san diego sometime and i'll race you. there's no shame in losing to a chipped s4. who knows...maybe you'll stall it.

Count me in, if you guys end up meeting up. I'd be down to see what the scoobie can do against your S4.

Lol, I've always respected Audi's, I think they are great cars, I However have never raced a A4 or an S4 (Thank God ) But I believe that a s4 would Crush a CL-S. I dunno bout a A4 but I think it would be a fun race. If there are any A4 Owners in SOCAL (858) area code I would be glad to particapiate in a 1on1. It would be my Honor

I'll race you when I get my 911 TT, but then I never will so I guess we'll never race. j/k

Hey my buddy just got an S4, any tips you can give? He wants to add performance but don't want to destroy his turbo. I bought his ass some Neuspeed Springs for Christmas (since he was my best man at my wedding), he got Bilsteins, and now he's confused between 18's or 19's and which rims.

6 speed or Tip S4?
If 6 speed, GIAC has come out with a decent chip called the X-chip. Very smooth and powerful. Programmed to run even on the 91 octane here in california. GIAC also will have a switch program very very soon. Can change up to 4 programs with a remote.
Your friend should upgrade to the AMS TBB kevlar wrapped, it can withstand the added boost. ALso look into some upgraded BPV's like the bosch 710n(from TT 225) or the MTM bosch, or FOrge valves from Stratmoshpere/AMS.

APR has a chip switch also.

AMS has a very nice chip(AMS is in Carsen Cal)

ALl these chips boost power up to 310-330hp and 340-370lbs torque.

Miltek exhaust from Stratmoshpere is available and is ~$800-900.
Borla makes one too.

Wheels are so individual in nature, I would go with 18's 18x8 or 8.5 ET31-35mm. Lightweight wheels are the SSR competition, OZ chrono, OZ superleggerra's. For a sturdy wheel ROnal RT's, LZ's, SSR GT1's-GT3's. With 225/40-18 or 235/40-18 tire.

Blah, blah, blah, blah...

What's your problem. I think this was very uncalled for. He was merely trying to see how much of a difference there was between his car and a modded CLS. Not he, nor anyone protested that he wouldn't win. Sheesh.

priceless? how's that priceless? the subaru has won many awards. plenty more than the s4. now dont get me wrong the s4 is an awesome beast and is filled with fine luxuries. but the simple fact is that performance wise the subaru eats it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. handles better, accelarates better, but s4 beats em' in price by 15g?! (just like the commercial says)

What awards did the WRX win? Reason why subaru's have won more awards and road test is because the magazines who conduct these test are targeting consumers. People are more likely to buy a 23k car than a 42k car, hence why more test are conducted on the WRX. Few months ago car and driver did a comparison between WRX, S4 and the 330xi. Guess who won that one? Thats right... S4. The article also stated that the scoobie accelerated better by like about .1 of a second Subaru needed a "punch-line" to help sell there WRX, hence why they put C&D's comparison against the S4, but they fail to tell the consumers who won that test. Gee, I wonder why

I hardly consider the accelerating test something that will "eat" the S4 for lunch, breakfast and dinner. But hey, if that makes you feel better for buying a WRX, then go right ahead.

Subaru WRX's are a nice AWD car and plenty sporty, but I would never buy one. For my taste, I would favor the CL-S over the scoobie anyday.

i do believe that everyone who lives in the us is a consumer and every test i have seen or heard the wrx has beaten the s4 in acceleration. wrx is 5.4 0-60. and handling. but i agree with u that the s4's looks and interiors are nice. but for the money and looking at performance i'd take the subaru and thats all.

Cool down? Im just stating the facts.

I have a Pearl White S4. And yes, they are available in Pearl White just so you didnt know. Its just a 1200.00 dollar option

About the two chips, I think the X-chip is more performance oriented than street driving. The Apr gets me better gas mileage and give me the extra "get up and go" that I need for every day driving. My friend told me, buy the X-chip, prepare to buy new turbos.

What up Mr. Audi Turbo? Gabo here!

I liked checking out your car last Friday. I agree, I would not get near a Subaru, regardless...

They need to up their sporting campaign. Subaru's still have that cheap-car tone to them.

I hate the way they market their "Boxer" engine, and getting all the un-studied people to believe they have a Porsche "Bosxter" engine in the WRX.

I too am amazed at their speed. Then again, space, amenities, and style are all comprimized to achieve the speed.

I don't know how they would hold up at high speeds though!

Meanwhile, looking to top out my car at 143.5 (according to R&T).

Maybe a trip to Vegas will provide enough road!

My sister said she did 160 in her Lexo on her way to Vegas.

Wish I was there!

Later dude!

P.D. Think I say your buddy last night (405 north) Silver S4 with rims, light tint, bumper with side gills. Looked good!

Wussup Gabo,

We should organize a Sunset Blvd Cruise this Friday. Seeing how the rest of the week should be sunny and warm. The nights should be cool and breezy.

I havent been down to sunset blvd cruising for a while. Last time I was down there I was road racing with a yellow viper RT/10 Hanged with him in the turns (pulled on him on a few turns, since he slowed down) but got rapped on the straights

So what do you guys (locals) say? Lets see how well the CL-S suspension/brakes setup are! Nothing more exciting than slaming on your brakes because theres a slower car ahead of you waiting at a redlight , or stopping at the redlight in the middle of an intersection because you could'nt slow down in time!

Sounds like fun? Let me know!

wow 16.0 flat? Thats pretty impressive. I always thought accords run like 17's and 18's. Do you have the V6 or the 4 banger model?

It was the V-6, It died when I shot a TAD too much nitrous thru it. I got a 14.8 out of it though, blowing a head gasket in 3d, but I kept spraying, the check engine light didnt come on till after the 1/4.

Strange thing is though, a buddy of mine said the 4-bangers were only 3 tenths slower than the 6. They have 150HP and are 2-300lbs lighter, they also have the option for a standard. Not sure how true that is, but I guess its possible.

My sister is going to buy the 02CLS I have now, and Ill get a new one as soon as the 6-speeds come out, I hope to see some low 14's, with traction of course, outta that bad boy. low 13's with BOOST!

BTW, the Quattro has the 2.8 V-6, rated at 195HP I believe. Much better off the line than the Accord(due to TQ/5speed, not traction limitations), mid range was about equal, but as soon as the VTEC kicked in, I was walking.

Oh, and yes, it was a 16.000 @ around 89MPH, (the timeslip is at work so I dont know exactly). That was the best time I could get out of it, nothing over 16.3, I was still playing with shift points though. It was a good car, which is why I got the CLS, basically an all-round upgrade. I was looking pretty hard at the A6 with the bi-turbo, but with all the options it came out to well over 40k. I was looking even harder at an M3, and would have one if they didnt want 20k OVER sticker!!

Indeed CLS is a very nice car. I thought about getting one a while back, but i wasnt too thrilled about having an auto. Your sister is wise, I wish I could meet smart girls like that

I used to have a 00 Accord Coupe V6, the car was rather slow compared to todays idea of a "fast" car. I thought about getting an M3, but I much rather buy a Z06 for that price, not to mention the BMW dealership wants bigtime markup. I much rather buy a 996 porsche.

**Giggles*....
that said... I did test drive a WRX as my last tryout before buying a new car... Buzzy and Noisy POS, but FAAAAAST....lol though i dont remember if it came with a horn, heater, radio, or windows...(I think I saw a headlight switch, but it may have been aftermarket)...maybe those were some of the weight saving options/luxuries that Subura felt we didn't need *insert grin*

it wouldn't bother me to lose a race to a WRX with or without mods, mainly because I bought an excellent car with a LOT of luxuries.... It was the WRX that made me buy my CL-S. I wanted some kick in the tailpipe, and didn't want to spend more than 28g's to do it...BUT what I DID want was NAVI, leather, heated seats, dual power moonroof, heated mirrors ...well you have an S4, u understand the rest....lol...

if only there would have been better incentives on the S4..(it was actually my backup choice)...but after the countless repairs on the Quattro 100, the old 5000, and the 928s4( that only had 40k when sold) and my friend's new TT turbo, I decided to take a break from german engineering and take a lesson from those who made my F-3...No problems..ever...and I know I have tried to break it..it just loves a good thrashing...

Hey, and let us know what ur times are like on the track!! maybe i could just race u with my bike....

I wish i have navi

the navi on the S4 is a POS. The only incentive is that it talks to you, (what navi system doesnt?)

however, I looked at gabo's CLS navi and it was totally awesome. The navi system on the CLS looked like it could only be outdone by the S500's Navi.

I wonder how much it would cost to upgrade my S4 with an aftermarket navi.

I doubt that you would want to, unless it was a PERFECT fit replacement. I checked out just about all the NAVI's, and the ACURA was by far the best, save for the ON-STAR and its monthly service charge. I didn't get the new DVD yet, but will soon. The main road that I live on is not even listed on the map, and it is EASILY the most havey used 2 lane connecting road in lancaster county. Yet, other single lane and barely paved roads are on the map, and they are way out in the boondocks. They are even accurate to friends' houses within about 10-20 feet of their driveway... Definitely impressive. Makes me wonder if the AUDI and others can improved by a third party DVD which would contain new firware or at least a flash upgrade..hmmmm

The only aftermarket NAV unit I can buy would be aftermarket. As for fitment, the audi stereo unit is pretty much not replaceable. The only method I can think of is getting it custom made.

It's going okay. Just trying to figure out where to get money for all the shit I want. I'm hoping I can atleast make one 12 sec pass come Feb/March. Don't know though. Bent a wheel on Max Power/Super Street tour in Alabama so I'm trying to determine am I going to sell what I have, get a replacement or change wheels completely. If only I had a winning lotto ticket, this would be easy. :P
