Hmmmmmm uh. since the rotary was a longitudinal mounted, RWD setup i'm sure it took some major $$ Can't forget the engine mounts and the tranny to boot. What kind of ECU is he using?

i have no idea of his setup...he was being real shady about the whole thing, so i set him up w/ a friend of mine, he said they ended up being side by side, so i know i can beat him, but i was just curious of his setup....he says he's never lost, well thats gonna change soon, but if i can get anything out of him i'll try to keep you posted, but he's really being too shady....actually afraid someone will steal his idea or something...little does he know he only ran next to an all motor civic...which is fast in her own right

Here's my 2 cents advice:

omit the rotary and stick with a FWD config for that civic.

Rotory

There is one successful CRX with a rotory motor in it that races in the (or used to race) in the IDRA and NIRA.

I don't know of any newer-style civics with this swap. If I was going to convert a Civic to RWD... I'd use the NSX motor

it's very possible. Shit people do all types of crazy shit. I just saw a 99 civic hatch w/ a brand new RSX Type R motor in it, w/ the 6 speed and all. I've got a friend throwing a b-series motor into a 68 VW bug.

I've seen rotary's thrown into old mini coopers and converted to RWD, so I don't see any reason to doubt this application. People do weird and crazy shit man.

Why put an s2K motor when an RSX motor with some work will make just as much hp... stroke it using the 2003 Accord 2.4 block and you've got a monster

Few folks are doing this already. I had planned on doing an allmotor car in an attempt to get 300hp at the wheels. Folks have 260 already... with a 2.1 liter (CRV-block, bored and GS-R head, individual throttle-bodies etc.). That never materialized.

If you are going to do this swap and need any help/info, let me know!

Don't use the b16b head.... use the b18c5 head. If you want any deals with Toda Racing (cams, individual TB's etc. let me know).

Are you using a crv block or an LS block with the appropriate mods?

CRV block. We have a b16b block laying around, so we are gonna give it a try. No point in putting out the cash for the b18c5. Esp. since the heads are nearly identical. I've got a good hook up on toda stuff, but if i need anything, i'll let you know. I may jump on you for the throttle bodies.

B16b vs b18C5

If its non type-R vs. non type-R, there are differences in flow characteristics of the head AND the quench area on the B16b is recessed. Subsequently the compression ratio is higher while using the b18c head.

The owner of the toda distributor for the US is a very good friend of mine. He is the ONLY distributor for toda in the US... so if you are serious about purchasing anything and want to talk to him... let me know.

People have had success with the b16b head using the Type-R intake manifold as well.
