So 2 months ago I got into a crash... pretty bad one. turned out to cost 8K through acura to fix... through insurance thank god.

But I got my car back and when I cleaned it and got to the roof i noticed the roof is literally bent on 3 of the 4 corners around the sunroof.

Now the car dives 100% perfectly. I've been scrutinizing everything for the last 3 days. It's just this frigging roof is kinda messed. I cannot believe me nor anyone at acura or the insurance adjuster didn't see it.

How much that gonna cost to fix... whole new roof panel. from acura, painted and installed?

Tomorrow i'm going to acura and seeing what can be done... either way tho if insurance isn't covering it I'll get acura to cut me a deal

 

I know exactly what kind of damage ur talking about. were u in front end collision?

if they're not too deep, you can have a PDR guy fix it. if not, u'll have to fill the dents in and repaint it.

 

Insurance should cover it.

 

yea, you'll just need a supplement on your claim, what they do is open back up your claim and do a supplement. it happens all the time. if they had found that damage the first time they may have totaled it, so consider yourself lucky... (if you like the car)

 

original quote was 5G then they had to RE open to do oth fron sub frames and then some... so now it's at 8 GRAND.

and NOW the roof is fucked which is 2111.00 through acura!! for a new panel painted and installed

i get the call today from acura to see whats gonna happen with the insurance. fingers are crossed

maybe they thought it was something they could of passed on ,or did not even see it since they were conserned with the front.
Besides if they figured all you damages at once your car would've been bye bye.

insurance is most likely going to fix it after talking to acura again. After all, the INSURANCE PEOPLE missd it so it's their fault.

Roof aint that bad. but it doesn't seal ever so slightly on one side.

took me a day to notice so it's def not worth selling the car. Acura is gonna fix it and that'll be that.

It would concern me more that it wasnt caught in the first place and that the needed uni body work wasnt done. If the roof is bent like that in a few spots there may be more damage elsewhere. That car needs to be put on a alignment rack and have every thing checked.

 

^i've seen roofs being bent like that on very minor accidents, but the weird thing is that some of the cars were not even involved in an accident, just going through a very uneven slope can cause ur chassis to twist and that will cause these stress spots, the chassis will come back in its place, but these dents wont.


OP, the roof does not have to be replaced, its a very easy fix with some body work and paint. prolly run you about 500. take the insurance money and get it fixed on the side for cheaper.

 

I'm just gonna get it done through acura cause they got a lifetime warranty and they've done all the work so far and everything is immaculate. Car drives like brand new. honesty I am impressed, and that's hard to do. Drivability is identical to before. Just the roof is off line with the sunroof. it's not major...

I see what your talking about. And your sure that the sunroof isn't just pushed in?

when u open the sunroof you can clearly see the metal bending upwards from the inside and if i put my weight on it then it all evens out. Luck i know. definitely fixable
