Leaving Chicago area on Sat, heading through Minn into Canada. Who knows the laws in Wi and Mn regarding radar detectors.

In Minnesota, radar detectors are ok, jammers are illegal, covering the license plate is illegal, scanners are ok except when used illegally.

Go around Wisconsin if you can. WI radar is legal. Last I remember, WI is pay for speeding ticket on the spot if you are from out of town. Bring your credit card.

In Wisconsin, rolling radar is not used (I think it's unlawful); VASCAR from cruiser is very popular, aircraft is used a lot, too. WI is a police state when it comes to speeding on the highway.

Minnesota State Patrol uses rolling radar quite a bit, they do some pacing, they like to park on the onramp. Sheriff department doesn't usually run traffic radar. During the nights and evenings (especially outside the Twin Cities metro area), MN State Patrol is spread thin. Warning tickets are possible; always ask for them.

Thanks for the reply, however just got the news I wont be taking my car. Instead I will be travelling in a 2000 chrysler concorde. So if any of you see me out there staring longingly dont worry its just the car.And I will be transfering the detctor so the info still helps. Just not as much
