Somewhere w/o traffic?????? That would be like uuummmm Chico.
We usually have folks come from Monterey and San Fran. We TRY to keep it fair for all.
I would really like to start working on a major Ca meet. We should do it in San Louis Obispo. That way the north can meet the south. I have pretty good knowledge of the area and a few hook ups. I can pretty much set us up with whatever we will need.

I agree. I'm thinking 2 meets. One will be a bay area meet, I like the BBQ idea. I think San Jose is a good spot for that, or maybe mountain view, anywhere we can find a big park with grills and a nice parking lot.

For the second meet, I am thinking a California/West Coast meet. I agree with San Luis Obispo for a great central meeting ground. About a 3 hour drive for no cal and so cal folks.

I am thinking June for the Bay Area meet and July for the California meet. Probably on Saturday for both. Comments?

Ya, I'm fine too. 30 minute drive is no big deal. The cool thing about mercado is that strip where we can drag and do 0-60 runs. Is there a similar place where you are thinking about meeting? I don't want a bunch of cops hassling us.

And let's wait till the weather is great ! I need a few weeks notice as well. I commute 200 miles per day, 3 days a week, so I hope I don't sound like a pre-madonna, but I am not encouraged to drive all over the Bay Area.....

I'll have to pass on the dragging and 0-60 runs unless it is at Sear point. Sorry,
I'm one of those cops......... Anyways the Sonoma or Napa county wine country is beautiful to drive as well as Monterey County. Lots of curves and long stretches of roadway.

I am with Bladerunner, as I am NOT interested in 0-60 runs ! I am NO cop, just not interested in racing etc.. Meeting to share, meet and get aquainted is what I want out of this meet. I can race anyone, anywhere, probabally in another life......

Wasn't really talking about long nice drives, there are tons of places like that in Cali, those are easy to find. I prefer the hills of Los Gatos Highway 9/Skyline Blvd. What I was talking about is a nice long stretch of abandoned road where we can hook up a Gtech Pro and test 0-60 speeds of all the CL's with various mods. If there is no appropriate place to do that it's no biggie, most of us with Fast CL's already meet up at Mercado and race tracks to do this sort of stuff anyway. I say we find a public park with BBQ grills and a large parking lot for this meet. Since we are meeting in an area I'm not familiar with, someone else should suggest the location.

Well, I really hope you're not one of "those" cops, but ya, I know what you're saying, it's cool.

Anyway, what we do for a living matters not, it's the enjoyment of owing a kick ass car that brings us all together. Seeing as how everyone will be "off-duty" and just there to have a good time, we're all good.

Exactly! Believe me, when I'm off-duty I do my fair share of fast driving, thats why I bought this outstanding vehicle. I think we should all suggest some places and then everyone vote on a place. The place with the most votes will be where we meet. We should try and make the places midpoint so it is fair for everyone involved.

I'm on 580 West at about 10:00 and 10:30 a.m. M, T and W, then return home anywhere between 6-7 p.m. I work in Redwood Shores, next to San Carlos and live in Antioch !! At least I don't have to deal with early am traffic !
Later....

Where is treasure island? If it's anywhere near the other side of the san mateo bridge (92E) then I think it's perfect.

I'd be in too...sounds like fun!

Man Bladerunner, I wish you didn't have to bring up your occupation. I'll try to have an open mind, especially since you own a CL , but when you have 3 tickets pending like me, its kinda hard.

I can't wait to do burnouts in front of a cop and not get a ticket for it!!! j/k

technique,

treasure island is the island connecting the bay bridge. there's good parking and a bad ass view of sf if anyone wants to take pics.

Gee, I wish you were the cop giving me my last ticket, maybe you would have given me a warning just because I have a CL! I got my one and only ticket like a month after I bought my car and the cop was like "nice car, new eh? Here's your ticket!"

OK, so here are the choices: Contra Costa, Mount Diablo, Treasure Island.

I say we meet in June and have a BBQ. So wherever you guys think the best place for a BBQ with lots of parking space and nice weather. Let the voting begin!

Hey Technique, I have been asking the TL owners the same thing, check out this link for some responses

I'm also thinking San Mateo area, that is pretty centralized for everyone. And I agree, a 30 min drive is nothing. And for BBQ, it would be cool just to hang out at a park, play sports, eat, check out eachothers rides.

Ya, sounds perfect. Foster City, San Mateo, Burlingame, it all sounds great. We just need to pick a park. Anyone?

San Mateo, Burlingame sounds good to me too. South Bay folks should meet first and race...I mean drive up to the meeting point...

Why don't you guys meet at the San Bruno City Park off of Crystal Springs. Or just head into the City and have a BBQ at Golden Gate Park...
Just trying to reduce any travel time for myself...
