Reds are pretty aggressive on rotors. Greens are the way to go, especially if you arent doing track days.

Great pad, initial cold bite first thing in the am is close to non existent lol but once you use them a few times, hold on. I wore the slots off my rotora rotors with the reds

OEM pads. They still had some meat on them when I put on the RL calipers. I got a set of crap pepboys pads to put on next.

why are you using crappy pads with a "BBK"? might as well have stuck with the oem's or legends

cause they were ten bucks. I haven't come across a set of pads that didn't do what I needed them to. I'll do thermoquiets if I don't like them but they are OEM compounds.

Are the rears good for anything or would they just be paper weights if I bought them too?

Have heard friends (and family) confirm how aggressive they are although others like them. I use to run some pretty aggressive pads on one of my Integras until I came to the realization that just because it's good for the track, doesn't mean it's good for the street...meaning, sometimes the things we'd modify to get that slight edge of performance doesn't always necessitate it to be done to a daily driver/street car.

Personally, I'd stick with the greens.

They arent the exact same calipers, but they are single piston.

The rear rotors on the RL are 309.5mm.
The rear rotors on the CL are 282.2mm.

The RL is 5x120, so the OEM rotors wont even bolt up. Ill compare brake pads later, Im running out to lunch right now.

I just read this entire thread beginning to end since I scored a pair or RL calipers last night. Funny how one question gets asked 10 times.

One thing that no one has touched on is reusing the rubber seals if I were to dissemble to rotors. I was going to buy the rebuild kit from Acura for $100 but if the rubber is still good, can I re-use it? I also saw a link for an aftermarket rebuild but it didn't show to the right product anymore.

If the seals are in good condition, then you can reuse them. I didnt realize the rebuild kits were $50 each side

BTW, I dont know if the rebuild kit comes with the two small seals that are between the two halves. I see the four boots and four large o-ring seals for the pistons though.

I just bought my kit. Now I am concern that my wheels will not fit. I have CCW Classics in the front. The specs are 18x10 + 32. Do you guys think they will clear without spacers? I do not have the rims on the car, so i can not measure. I just don't want to start powder coating and then do the install and then my wheels don't fit. What specs is everyone running?

You cannot have a straight forward wheel spec that will or will not clear these rotors. Each wheel has a different design/curvature to the spokes. Find a 6MT 3G TL to test fit your wheels on. If not, toss the bracket and caliper on the car then test fit the wheel. It shouldnt take anymore then 45 minutes.

But Im willing to bet they wont clear without a spacer.

Those are some nice wheels and I'm certainly no expert but I think you probably will need a spacer to run the RL calipers with them.

Depends if they have a lip or not. 3G TL-S and 3G TL wheels clear and they are 17x8 +45. A-specs clear and they are 18x8 (8.5 also) and they are also +45 offset. I have a set of wheels that are 18x8 +35 and they clear easily. All of those wheels do not have a lip on them.

Just for comparison, a set of 18x8 +45 wheels that I have will clear, but my other set that is 18x8 +42 do not.

There is no cut and dry measurement.

Unless I found the wrong pics in google CCW Classics have a lip that's why I say they won't fit at least not 18 inch.

I hated giving up my other rims which had a lip but I ended up getting 18x8 +45 A-specs so the RL calipers will fit without a spacer.

what are the maximum spacers you guys think i would need? SO If they clear OEM brembos, most likely they will clear the RL?

This person has the same wheels and specs I have and to me it looks like he has the OEM Brembos.

Sorry guys. If I was to get spacers. Would I buy the hub centric or universal spacers. If I get hub centric spacers, would I have to purchase the ones for a 350z with a center bore of 66.1?

I think someone should make a template. Everybody could then cut it out and use that as a guide. We could Sticky it. It would be the real world answer to "will RL calipers fit behind my (xyz combo)?".

If what the owner in the link you posted has is the same exact wheel and fitment, then yea, a 5mm spacer should be all you need. The 3G TL-S uses the Brembos and the OEM TL-S wheels will clear the RL calipers. So if they clear on his car, theyll clear on yours.

I posted my measurements of how much the caliper sticks out in front of the rotor. I think they are a few pages back now.

If they clear his brembos with a 5mm spacer, they will clear the RL calipers with the same spacers. But I'd try the wheel without spacers, just to see if your lucky enough to get them to clear.

Yea, that's what I'm in the middle of. I'm running spacers with my current set of wheels (Stock RX-8, 18x8 +50) and while I dont have problems, I just dont like the idea of spacers, so I'm going to a 18x8 +35 wheel.
