Ripped my leather seats!!!

I am so mad at myself. I was moving and put a tv in the front passenger seat. When I was unloading, I see a five inch long rip in the seat on the top leather piece (the one with holes in the leather and where your thighs would lay upon). I gotta get this fixed!! Someone please help with possible solutions for this (the cheaper the better, but I don't want to make it look dirty).

Can I also just replace that one piece without having to replace the whole seat??

You can buy the seat cover from the dealer ($300-ish) but I'd see if an upolstry (sp?) shop could fix it first.

Not to be a dick 'causeI know shit happens but I bet that will teach you to be careful what you put on your seats!

Most upholstry shops can pull the cover off sew in a new panel for much less than replacing the entire cover. I'd reccomend looking into that rather than replacing the entire cover.

I'd replace the cover. I just wouldn't trust the long term wear on a "fix"
www.acuraautomotiveparts.org has the bottom section for a little over $280.

I would replace the entire cover as opposed to trying to patch or "fix" it. I'm sure you learned your leason, now pay for it, and that will ensure you don't do it again.

I had some repair work done and it matches ok, its not perfect, but was much cheaper and you can hardly tell. The only panels they can't repair are the two that the side air bag are housed in since its desinged to tear open for the air bag. I guess there is some special stitching and most places don't want the liability. Also while they had everything torn apart on the drivers side, they replaces all the vinyl thats on the bottom cushion. That defienetly looks and feels better.

Not too sure cause it was done with some other work, but for $300 I had a new cover put on the drivers side, the one large panel on the bolster of the passanger's seat replaced and all the leather that isn't perforated plus the vinyl patches on the drivers bottoms cushion replaced. It was replaced with "Acura" leather that was left over from a legends cause Acura doesn't sell the patches of leather for the CL/TL's anymore. If you really look at it you can see the grain, but it doesn't look bad.

Try a leather and upholstry shop first. They fixed a small tear in my seat and I don't notice it staring at the repair up close. Not sure about a 5 inch rip, but worth a shot, especially if price is a concern.
