Revs climb when I press in clutch...

Is this a usual thing. If im just cruising along in 6th..and i press the clutch to downshift..the revs can climg as high as 1000k rpms before they fall. I know our cars have a Dual Mass Flywheel? So i dont know if thats what it does. My revs started climbing in my S2000 just before a traded it in. Ended up being a bad Pressure Plate. I had a Toda lightweight flywheel in that ...so ..i dont know if this is different. Doesnt matter what gear im in..if i press the clutch..its almost as if i still have the gas down for a second. And the weird thing is..the clutch isnt slipping on the upshifts. IM stumpd and so is acura. There isnt a newer clutch..so they told me just to wait..get an aftermarket on..and they'd put it in free of charge...now thats Acura Customer Service.

mine will fall if i completely take my foot off the gas..but you know what. On my S i also had a bad throttle body during this phenomenon. They told me they usually replace alot of accord tb's for some odd reason they go bad..i hope this is NOT the case in or cars.

I believe the DUAL MASS FLYWHEEL reduces the vibration for the manual transmission..it's literally "vibration-free". Just put your hand on the stick while idle...u'll notice there's no shaking like on an integra w/manual tranny.

As for the RPM climbing issue, mine does that too. It's not a big deal...it's just sometimes I depress the clutch too quickly and probably not quick enough on the gas...it's minor..even 1k rpm higher before dropping...

I don't think u should worry about it...

Take your foot off the gas... :P :P

Actually it is probably the action of the IAT not adjusting quickly enough. By engaging the clutch you remove the load from the engine. The ECU probably has the IAT opened which, without load, could provide enough air into the engine to allow it to rev. The ECU then starts closing the IAT which then drops the revs.

Just normal operation.

Every fuel injected manual I've driven does that. I figure one of two things:
1) emissions, or
2) holds the throttle open a bit for a smoother shift into the next gear.
