I just read that the RES interferes with the ECU, is this true, if the ECU has to be tampered with at all, im out........my last car, i bought a S-AFC and when i brought it in to the dealer for engine noise i made sure i uninstalled the SAFC from my car and ECU.....but they could tell that i tampered with my ECU and they voided my warranty and stuck me with bent valves and $3000 to fix it, luckily acura wasn't smart enough to look under my hood before trade-in and i didn't fix anything..
Holy Shit. How the hell did they know that u tampered with the ECU. U didn't have to open up the ECU to install the S-AFC did u?

About RES. Will it be available in different colors + 'metals' ? If say done in aluminum then would there be anodized colors available? Or if it is done in another metal then would u also sell it chromed?

Tnx

Transparent metal, that would be a 1st , jk .

From what I've heard is that there is no chance of damaging the engine because there are no moving parts. It is nothing more that a ' hunk of metal '.

Tnx

if there's no chance of damaging the engine why hasn't it come out yet ( i know you said you just "heard" but...)? or is it because CL's are too neglected and nobody really puts any time into making this thing?

Maybe they will be ready when 2006 comes around and we can use it on the new cl.

Awsome new info on the RES in this thread:

http://www.acura-cl.com/forums/showt...threadid=78837

I think this really lets us get a more clear, solid idea as to where this new mod is heading. Cool!

P.S.
Sticky?

Not to take anybody's side, but you guys have to try and be a little more understanding. I hate waiting this long too. But I've been involved in the product development field, and let me tell you it takes A LOT of time to start a new product from scratch and get it to the final stages of production and product launch. While I've never done product devlopment forthe auto parts industry, I can tell you that regardless of what the product is you have to go thru several stages of design, market research, production, promotion, etc etc. Starting a new product from scratch and getting it to its release date can take anywhere from 6 months to 3-4 years, depending on the product and on circumstances and hurdles you may have to jump. Talk of Res has only been around for about a year or so. So if RES WERE to be released say in 6 months, then the total development time would have been about 1.5 yrs which is a reasonable amount of time.
Think about this b4 you guys start bashing syncivic, and all the other RES supporters.

Just my $.02

I think people don't give anybody a break and like to point out faults in someone else. Hey. these guys are trying to produce this RES mod and it does take time. So instead of bad mouthing just don't say anything. Give it time and it may or may not work out! Chill out people!

i would guess an update once a month or so would help keep morale up. right now, this sticky is just a waste of space. with no new info it should be removed.
